Fast paced, constant route growth, slows down durring winter months.
COMMERCIAL PEST CONTROL TECHNICIAN (Current Employee) – Harrisburg, PA – June 8, 2017
Work days are starting when you need to, to arrive at first job, and you are done when all work, and anything added on that day, is completed.
Constant interaction with customers in home and business settings is an everyday occurrence so customer service and trouble shooting skills need to be high.
Management currently is good. They are there to support and help you when you're at an impasse in treatment plans. Past managers haven't always been so helpful.
Workplace culture is what you make it. Your on your own servicing your route more than interacting with others, so you need to be able to work independently while following all laws, regulations and company policies.
Hardest part of job is scheduling and resupplying, depending how far your route is to office. While having an office support staff, your ultimately responsible for getting everything done on your own. Your on call every other Saturday, which means you will be working. It's only till noon, if you even work that long but you don't get the time off during the week to offset it. Routes can get very busy from spring till fall.
Most enjoyable part of job is you manage your route as best you see fit. So you have a lot of flexibility. As long as all the work is being completed correctly each month and customers are happy, your left alone for the most part. Work slows down during winter months, so more family time but that can change depending on route.
Job flexibility and can make commisions on top of salary.
Very hectic at times with little support and all responsibility falls on you.
