Position Summary:

  • As a key member of our IT department, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the Agency’s System infrastructure (including WAN, LAN) and will be involved in IT special project implementation and deployment.

  • The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) on the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life serves the South Peninsula through educational, social, cultural, fitness, sports and other wellness programs. We are a multi-generational Jewish neighborhood where all are welcome and we foster new personal and community connections through rich and rewarding experiences. The OFJCC provides a common ground for Jewish institutions, other local groups, organizations and individuals to work, learn and play together for the betterment of the whole community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support a range of business critical applications and services
  • Maintain, patch and upgrade Windows Server OS and applications
  • Monitor systems for issues and escalate to the proper subject matter expert
  • Resolve issues in a timely fashion and take steps to prevent recurrence
  • Analyze and improve system performance and stability
  • Perform system backups and restores
  • Prepare change management documentation for peer reviews
  • Create and update technical/procedural documentation
  • Collaborate with other departments on joint projects
  • Assist in defining and drafting standard operating procedures and policies
  • Work with end-users to resolve complex issues
  • Manage NAS/SAN, VMWare and Cisco network equipment
  • Other related duties as required or directed


  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Highly efficient in identifying, defining, and analyzing problems
  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant IT experience, at least part of which was involved with

1. Administering a Windows AD environment supporting a community of 200 + users
2. Administering MS Exchange, MS SQL, VMware and IIS
3. Experience in SAAS, Cloud Architecture, migration to and managing Office 365

  • Solid understanding of fundamental protocols: NTFS, NFS, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, NTP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, 802.1x, IPsec, SSL, Kerberos
  • Demonstrated track record in executing decisions in line with standard IT and security protocols
  • Experience working with MS Exchange, MS SQL, DFS, Windows PKI, Windows Terminal Services, NAS/SAN, Quantum Backup and MCSE and CCNA certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows scripting languages (e.g. VB, WSH, WMI, ADSI) to automate routine administrative tasks a plus
  • Experience working with Cisco switches, routers and Fortinet firewalls preferred
  • Must be able to carry a minimum of 30 lbs

Work Schedule:

  • This is a 20 hour per week contract position
  • Usual schedule will be 4 hours per day Mon-Fri, but may be altered to include nights/weekends when necessary
