Senior Administrative Assistant for the Senior Director.
Under minimal supervision, served as Senior Administrative Assistant (SAA) to the Senior Director of Clinical Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics and Metabolism. The SAA carried out routine but responsible administrative assignments, developing solutions and procedures to improve specific departmental policies or work flow. Helped prepare publications for submission to journals. Acted as a liaison between departments and external customers. Performed specialized duties related to departmental operations including literature research, manuscript and poster preparation, coordination of special departmental events, and development and maintenance of tracking systems for final study reports, consultant agreements and invoices and at times assisted in the preparation of the department budget. As SAA I arranged appointments, conferences, meetings and maintained an appointment calendar for the Senior Director. I composed letters, memos and other written communications on routine matters as well as responded to questions from internal/external customers. I completed a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following; travel arrangements (international/domestic), expense reports, and other tasks regarding departmental operations ensuring timely submittal to appropriate department for processing; screened and distributed incoming correspondence to the Senior Director and other staff members; received, screened, and acted upon requests and complaints from external customers and from other departments. Quite often the Senior Director was on travel or attending meetings. As a result, my job involved making independent decisions on problems encountered within a delegated scope of activity and with personal responsibility for the effect of such decisions.
