Pacific Quest: Seeking Adolescent Program Director

Pacific Quest is an outdoor therapeutic program for struggling teens and young adults, located on the Big Island of Hawaii. Pacific Quest offers a clinical, yet holistic approach to treatment, moving beyond traditional wilderness therapy and teaching sustainable life skills. Pacific Quest’s proprietary therapeutic model is a groundbreaking approach that utilizes Horticulture Therapy to create concrete metaphors for its students as they cultivate their own health and happiness.

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for: supervision of the Program; personnel management; assistance with program promotion and events/outreach coordination; various administrative tasks and the co-development and quality assurance of other supervisory roles.

Essential Duties:
*Has “Director On-Call” schedule to assist with crisis management and other programmatic needs
*Effective, timely and detailed communication with Executive Director
*Weekly meeting with each supervisor detailing goals and development of systems in each department
*Ensure follow through and development of Behavioral Plans in the Field Communication and collaboration with the Clinical and Wellness Departments to assure departmental balance in delivering care to client
*Direct supervision and support of Supervisors and Field Staff
*Program development in collaboration with Executive Director Weekly camp schedules
*Curriculum implementation, lesson development and oversight
*Debrief departing field staff, identify areas of growth and future goals for development
*Maintain documentation on field staff and field supervisors performance and development
*Development of Program Policies and Procedures for Supervisors and staff
*Evaluating supervisors performance
*Evaluate all program systems on a quarterly basis

Additional responsibilities include:
Flexibility with overtime hours when crisis situations mandate
Flexibility to cover other supervisor responsibilities and schedule on an as needed basis

3-5 years’ experience supervising staff in a therapeutic venue
Experience with scheduling and curriculum development
Policy and procedure implementation development
Requires ability to be a team player, to form mutually respectful relationship with staff and to grow professionally in meeting the challenges of this position
Ability to work independently
Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screen
