The individual in this role works with users across the business to evaluate existing applications and identify opportunities to increase system performance and/or business/user efficiency. S/he also works with internal and external technical resources to develop and implement application software solutions for users across the organization (i.e. research, development, commercial, administration, etc.)
Assesses business/financial, commercial and scientific application functionality for its utility/effectiveness and usability. Applications include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Great Plains, Forecaster and Customer Relationship Manager (CRM); SAS; ACD Labs’ suite of applications; IDBS’ suite of applications (i.e. Activity Base, XLfit, Sargen, etc.); Accelrys’ ISIS; Tibco’s Decision Site suite; etc.
Monitors and maintains applications to ensure programs function as intended. Proactively identifies, evaluates and recommends software-based solutions that provide increased efficiencies for users. This may take the form of new applications and/or application enhancements/upgrades.
Provides Tier III end-user technical support by assessing, diagnosing and resolving routine application errors.
Assists end users with the selection and testing of new applications. Works closely with network administrator, Database Administrator (DBA) and end users to provision and install new applications.
Analyzes, designs, develops, test and implements new applications or enhancements to existing applications. Plans, coordinates and applies application patches, maintenance packs, and software upgrades.
Provides application administration services to manage user accounts. This includes tracking and managing user licenses as well as managing users’ access to applications.
Develops and maintains scripts for automated processing. This may include scripts designed to improve system/application performance, generate reports, automate back-ups, etc.
Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of 2-3 years of directly related work experience.
- Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.
Experience with Microsoft technologies and programming languages(.Net platform, Visual Basic, VBScript, Jscript, XML, T-SQL, ASP).
Experience in performing analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support of applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM
Knowledge of internet portal and dashboard development.
Prior experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Company
Tier III Help Desk Experience
Familiarity with GxP regulatory requirements.
