POSITION: Temporary Payroll Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources
LOCATION: Downtown San Diego
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Qualified candidates must be local to San Diego, possess greater than 4 years experience processing payroll for an organization with greater than 100 employees using ADP.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for all aspects of an automated payroll function for approximately 200 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Calculation and posting of all additions, changes and maintenance to the payroll system and payroll
files as well as providing payroll reports and payroll information to the finance department and senior leadership.
 Must also be familiar with an automated timekeeping system, this involves analyzing time punches,
being able to make changes and perform maintenance to the system and knowledge of its interface with payroll system.
 The temporary payroll administrator must also be familiar with the rules and regulations regarding payroll issues for several different states.
 Must be familiar with the year end process (closing out payroll records and issuing W-2 forms)
 This person must be a self –starter requiring minimal supervision.
 Ability to help out in the human resources department with other projects as necessary
 The work is of a highly confidential nature requiring independent judgment, problem solving
and follow-up skills

REQUIREMENTS:

 Requires at least 4 years of payroll experience with solid knowledge of all payroll practices
 Must Have experience with ADP automated payroll system
 Experience with ADP’s Time & Attendance automated timekeeping system
 Functional knowledge of ADP’s payroll reporting
 Functional knowledge of Microsoft office software including WORD and Excel are a must
 Ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with all levels of employees
 Good oral and written communication skills
 Ability to work with all levels of employees in a diplomatic fashion
 Ability to function effectively in a team environment
 Knowledge of basic accounting principles to communicate information effectively to the Accounting Department
 Flexibility to adapt to last minute payroll changes that need to be made
