Front Desk Agent, City of Industry, CA - September 12, 2016
You learn a lot about how to multi-task, communicate, and make plenty of friends all throughout the resort. The toughest part of the job is balancing full-time hours while being a full-time student... as a part-time employee! That means working 40 hours during some weeks, but never receiving any benefits. CEO is a great guy but comes by the property maybe once in a few weeks/months. Management leads by fear rather than through encouragement or positive reinforcement. They call you out in front of your own team if errors are made, which is humiliating and embarrassing for employees. Advancement is difficult since managers have been there for decades. Turnover rate is high and consistent, but nobody acknowledges that management is the problem.
