No long term vision
Director of Legacy Giving (Current Employee) –  Santa Ana, CADecember 23, 2015
There is no long term vision for the organization; emphasis is on short term planning and annual budget. Salaries are very low, staff work an incredible number of hours each week, sometimes two weeks or more without a day off, many concerts and events. Very events-heavy organization. The organization is extremely dependent upon donations for nearly 60% of it's budget, and the pressure on staff is extreme. The organization could be more successful but there is no investment made in resources or staff to accomplish that. A very disappointing, frustrating experience working there.
Pros
Wonderful Symphony
Cons
Low salaries, limited benefits, staff burnout

Great people, but no incentive to stay
Digital Media Specialist (Current Employee) –  Santa Ana, CANovember 11, 2013
I enjoy(ed) working here, as the staff is fun and devoted. However, everyone grumbles about the low pay, the lack of raises (none in 6 years) and the feeling from upper management that any extra effort is unrewarded. So, turn over is fairly high except from those that feel trapped, unable to find other work.
Pros
Benefits include attending a wide variety of concerts
Cons
low pay
