The new hospital, Parkridge, is beautiful. Has serious problems with high turnover rates, no teamwork and the charting is horrendous. Charting needs to be streamlined. Unable to do, effectively, all that is expected of you. No relief for lunch. You have to carry a phone that rings non-stop in patients rooms during patient care and while at lunch, if you get a lunch.
Care guides that are supposed to discharge your patients don't have carts to help patients carry their belongings out. They are not adequately staffed. They always act like they are too busy to take your patient out.
Biggest issue are assistant nurse managers and charge nurses that are inexperienced and lazy. Upper management/ administration think they hung the moon. No attention is given to assignments. You can loose all your patients and get all the admissions with little or no help. Meanwhile, someone else doesn't have a single patient go home.
I have never had a job where I can go the entire day without being able to talk to my fellow coworker. It is too busy. I miss that. I miss teamwork. They have volunteers that will come to the floor and they are fabulous. A shining star in the day, physical therapist are also great.
I enjoy the physicians and the patients the most and clocking out at the end of the day.
