LEAD ASSISTANT TO THE COUNTY ENGINEER\PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR
Palo Alto County is seeking applicants for the position of Lead Assistant to the County Engineer\Professional Land Surveyor. The position is responsible for the planning, surveying, design and construction inspection of highway projects and will supervise the county’s technical staff under the direction of the County Engineer. A Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Iowa is strongly desired. A surveying license may be waived for a candidate with significant experience in design, inspection and surveying. Applicants must have an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited college or comparable education. Applicants are required to hold a valid Iowa driver’s license. Applicants must have or be able to obtain Iowa DOT certificate in Level I ACC, Level II PCC, and Level II Aggregate inspection. Applicants should have knowledge of and working experience in civil design software, word processing and spreadsheets. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish a working relationship with co-workers, contractors and the public. Organization and attention to detail is a must.
The salary range is $21.00 – 32.50 DOQ
