PAMF provides great service
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee), Mountain View, CA – February 25, 2013
The PAMF physicians are amazing, however, as far as employees go, there is not a great deal of room for advancement. All employes are replaceable.

Close knit work environment that prided itself on quality patient care and showing sppreciation to staff
Staff Nurse promoted to Clinical Manager (Former Employee), Palo Alto, Ca. – February 22, 2013
Pros: exempt position, i was in a position to mentor other nurses, provide solutions to patient complaints on behald of the organization
Cons: sometimes very long work days
As a staff nurse in the Internal Medicine/Family Practice dept's, I provided direct patient care, assisted with office procedures, provided telephone triage and also patient education. The most enjoyable part of the job was having a great working relationship with the physician who's practice I supported and also the relationships that I developed with – more... the long time patients.
I later moved in an administrative role as a Nurse Manager of the medical sub-speciality departments. I was responsible for hiring and supervising the training of new nursing staff. I also supervised the daily work of the nursing staff in my departments and worked with the nurses and physicians to develop policies and procedures that were department specific. Under the supervision of my Director, I prepared the annual budgets for my departments.
The most enjoyable part of my job was mentoring the nursing staff who reported to me. The most challenging part of my job was keeping all aspects of my departments running smoothly. – less

Just OK
Benefit Specialist (Former Employee), Palo Alto, CA – December 10, 2012
The managers stay out of your hair and let you do your work, which is nice. But, too much red tape to get any change in schedule/procedure. The time clock system is a joke, flagging you for being 1 minute late, or for returning from break early(?).

My work at Palo Alto was a team approach. The Doctors and nursing staff and support staff cared for the patients in a caring, educated way.
Outpatient infusion nurse (Former Employee), Palo Alto, CA – September 11, 2012
Pros: cohesive group of staff
Cons: finding a cure for everyone
Our out patient clinic was very busy, seeing 4-6 patients for each nurse. I learned to stop and "see" the patient, in a busy setting. Sincere understanding of patient fears and needs was encouraged. We could follow though to meet their medical and emotional needs. I enjoyed our pot lucks. The hardest part of my job was saying goodbye.

Good place to work great people
Orthopedic Technician (Current Employee), Palo Alto, CA – June 8, 2012
A typical day starts at 8am to remove and apply cast or splints on patients that have broken bones. Every day is a learning experience because every patients is different and all have there own story to tell. My co-workers here are very nice and friendly everybody seams to get along well. The toughest part of my day is when we get a large amount of – more... patients with broken bones, and because i'm the only cast tech the rush of 4 different doctors sending me patients can get rough but a challenge is always good. – less

Great doctors and co-workers
Redwood Shores Medical Assistant Float (Current Employee), Palo Alto, CA – April 27, 2012
Pros: great group of people to work with
Cons: not enough time to take a break
There are no typical days working in a medical clinic. Everything can change on a dime. Typically, someone will call in sick and schedules have to be re-worked so doctors will be covered. Management does what they can to make everything function as smoothly as possible. Everyone works together as a team. The hardest part of this job is the time pressure – more... in getting patients in and keeping the doctors on time. However, the most rewarding part of what I do is making the patients feel cared for and making them feel a little better when they leave. – less
