The PANDA (Parallel, Networking and Distributed Applications) research group is one of the research groups in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Victoria.
The PANDA Group was formed with the initiative and leadership of Dr. Eric Manning and Dr. Ali Shoja in order to integrate and focus the research activities of interested faculty members – more... in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The long-term objective of the group is to investigate problems of parallel and distributed computing with respect to the operating system, architecture, programming language, and networking points of view. The group is also interested in problems of performance, real-time response, fault-tolerance, and mobile networking for such systems.
The PANDA group is currently focused on various aspects of distributed systems and networks with particular attention paid to the Quality of Service issues raised by multimedia delivery over the Internet.
