A good part time job
Shift Lead, Cashier, Food prep, Team member (Former Employee), Inver Grove Heights, MN – May 22, 2013
Pros: discounted pizza
Cons: late nights/ early mornings
Papa Murphy's was a good part time job for me to work when I was laid off. The hours were not always very available, but it was a fun place to work.

Productive and fun work place
CUSTOMER SERVICE/FOOD PREP (Former Employee), West Jordan, UT – April 25, 2013
Typical day on the job for me was entertaining and talking to customers as I prepared their pizza. I was trained as a night manager so I did learn quite a bit about closing and money managing. There wasn't really a hard part about the job. The management made it an entertaining work place.

Uncomfortable
Employee (Current Employee), Citrus Heights, CA – April 17, 2013
Pros: 25% dicount
Cons: bad training
Honestly working here is uncomfortable. No matter how good of a mood you're in, once you walk in the doors the tension in the rooms changes your mood completely.

Working with the crew at Papa Murphy's is par for the course in a pizza store. The cohesiveness of the employees is what makes working there a joy.

Nice as a first job
Team Member (Former Employee), Owasso, OK – April 4, 2013
Pros: flexible hours, clean workplace
Cons: bad pay, bad training, not much advancement
This is nice as a first job. It's a clean workplace, the schedule is flexible, the hours aren't bad. It's also easy to request off if you need it.

But you wouldn't want to work here long. The pay is terrible, you have a small opportunity for advancement, and it's hard to get more hours unless you're a manager.

The training is also bad, you have to – more... learn a lot on your own. But you operate as a team so people are there to help. I think you can do a lot worse than this job. – less

Bad training
Crew Member (Former Employee), Bremerton, WA – April 4, 2013
Pros: discount pizzas
I was not able to thrive in the workplace. I could have had better training with the cash register, I was more thrown onto it during the job without much experience.

Pros: very fun and enjoyable
Cons: pay
I enjoyed working here. It was very flexible and relaxing. I would reccomend it to any school aged child who wants some extra money and a job to add to their resume.

My co-workers were easy to get along with and the management was lenient with my schedule.
team member, prepared product (Former Employee), Saint Francis, WI – April 2, 2013
A typical day was pretty slow and, somewhat, dull but I enjoyed my co-workers company. I learned how to prepare frozen pizza and how to use a cash register. The hardest part was the space in between that required a lot of waiting to have something to do. The most enjoyable part was the feeling that you got at the end of your shift that told you that – more... you did a good job. – less

Ok place to work, have to be strong emotionally
General Manager (Former Employee), Redding, CA – March 27, 2013
There were so many things I learned while with this company. They do have an open door policy, but they also have a no secrets policy which made it hard to work with some. As a manager there I treated everyone with the same respect I wished to be treated with. The upper management however, are very hard to communicate with.

Easy-going workplace where everyone got along.
General Manager (Current Employee), Littleton, CO – March 18, 2013
Pros: easy job, decent pay, friendly customers
Cons: long hours, salary
A typical work day I begin by doing a daily inventory of the top three variance items from the week before. I enter the inventory into the computer and begin prep work next. Prep work includes: making dough, cutting vegetables, binning up meats, and shredding cheese. During my time with Papa Murphy's I have learned to appreciate and respect every person – more... I meet in and outside of work, especially when it comes to a restaurant. I manage a crew of 9-11 employees on a day to day basis and make sure that the standard operating procedures are always followed. My employees like to work for me because I challenge them to always push themselves. The hardest part about my job is the hours that I have to put in on a weekly basis. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing a store run up to standards and being able to interact with customers. – less

It was a very fun, enjoyable, and rewarding.
Pizza Artist (Former Employee), Lake Havasu City, AZ – February 27, 2013
A typical day at work was usually very steady depending on the day. Very enjoyable. Being able to have fun at work with great co-workers makes working at Papa Murphy's even better. I learned more about how to work as a team member and to make pizzas. I learned how to answer the phone more professional like. Management was great. I loved my managers – more... and shift leaders. Although, they could have used a little more work in enforcing some of the rules they were great managers. Co-workers were amazing. They always knew how to have fun, yet work hard at the same time. It was never a dull day working at Papa Murphy's. There wasn't really anything hard about working at Papa Murphy's. It was a pretty easy and laid back job. Everything about it was enjoyable. If I could I would go back. – less

Cashier and Customer Service (Former Employee), Fallon, NV – February 23, 2013
Cons: short breaks, no free food or discount
Some of my coworkers were hard to deal with. A lot of my coworkers' shifts needed to be covered at the last second and when no one could cover it right away the boss would get angry at everyone else even though it was our day off. The management was very strict. at one point we were told that we were not allowed to talk at all while working. But all – more... the supervisors were in the back talking and laughing loudly. But, I enjoyed my job because I love working with people. Making pizzas and taking orders came naturally for me. I learned a lot as it was my first real job. – less

Productive place to work
Crew Member (Former Employee), Wichita, Kansas – February 21, 2013
Pros: free pizzas to take home
Cons: benefits & pay
I enjoyed working at Papa Murphys. I learned a lot involving food preparations; I learned how to make dough for pizza crust, how to chop ingredients, and the correct amount of ingredients that should go onto a pizza. My management team worked hard and they got the job done. My coworkers were friendly and made work enjoyable. The hardest part of my job – more... was closing of the store. The most enjoyable part of my job would have to be assisting the customers. – less
