I worked at Paramount Equity Mortgage for almost 2 years and it was a great experience. Great culture almost family like even. It had a competitive compensation for sales and management always was willing to do whatever it took to get the best out of you

bad management, managers only up to their personal glory.
Mandatory OT, if you lack 3 hours of OT you get a personal call from the closing manager slapping you on the hand.
micro managing by the manager, one on one which she puts a lot of scare threatening your job but yet gives you a contrast that she was here for you, just looking up for your welfare.
very stressing specially the VP of operations will not recognize the problem, rather she would backs the closing manager 100%.
in her month in the position, 2 closer move to a different department, 2 were fired according to her (drama) talking behind someone else's back which puzzled me simply I didn't see this problem before she fill in the managers position. Reality check, she lost more than half of the closing crew as she assumed the position of a closing manager, team lead, senior funders, and so on. VP of operations still not figuring out why that many resigning.
Pros
if you are a big fan of Starbucks.
Cons
mandatory OT with a slap on the hand for not putting in more than 3 hours OT, practice of humiliation in front of co-workers by closing manager

Company is striving to grow at a tremendous speed, monthly goals from 800 - 1000,- 1100 - 1200 + + + each month, with the same # of staff. If like working more hours each month to reach the newer, higher goals with minimal benefits, come on down. Don't plan on a home or family life. They push for volume but micromanage, you work must be perfect while pushing the limit on volume, make a few mistakes and "possible termination" will be mentioned several times during a discussion. I am sorry I tried so hard to get a job at Paramount, I was misled. Once I was employed I was informed that the place is a "sweat factory", pretty much on the mark. A times the processing staff is required to work 12 hr shifts to get the loans to underwriting and closing, plus work weekends. Thursdays are "snack attack", free ice cream, they think that makes up for everything else. From what I heard the place was great until the owners decided to move on, just like at Solar City, they created that company and then sold it once it was at the right size and value, looks like doing the same with Paramount, almost all new Exec Staff, located in Orange County, including the new President. He visits about 1 day every 3-4 weeks
Pros
snack attack
Cons
volume, stress, pressure

Company would rather mandate OT than hire sufficient staff, requires on regular basis processing, closing/funding work 12 hr shifts, each month demand more production from staff, no consideration to employee home life. In April 2016 an entire processing staff walked out in one day, Underwriting has minimum standards/touches/decisions increased, if cannot meet the goal they are required to work OT to meet the volume requirements while maintaining their underwriting quality.
Pros
If you like free lunches, etc in lieu of taking your lunch period, this is the place. They feel if you take a 1/2 lunch and leave at 8 hrs you are now working enough
Cons
Mandatory OT, stress, unrealistic goals, goals/requirements change constantly

Account Executive (Current Employee) –  Rancho Cordova, CAMay 2, 2016
Great co-workers, fun atmosphere, lacking in training department though. Most managers are good, a couple bad seeds in the bunch that could go, but other then that it's a pretty good atmosphere for a call center.
Pros
great co-workers
Cons
lacking in training department

Operations (Current Employee) –  RosevilleMarch 30, 2016
Company says they are family oriented, maybe in the past when the Founding Owners were involved, 2 of the 3 have moved on, leaving the company in other hands, individuals coming from other mortgage companies. If you like minimal health benefits, a 401k match that is abysmal (3% of your investment, $30 for $1000 in 401k), long hours, mandatory overtime constantly, unrealistic expectations, an attitude of what can you do for me today, and it better be better than yesterday and last month. Big mistake coming here, the company has a large backlog but shows no intention of staffing up to handle the volume, so if you like to be overworked, no home or family life Paramount Equity is for you.
Pros
Thursday ice cream
Cons
mandatory overtime, unrealistic expectations, environment

This would be a great job for a college student that lives at home. Not a job for a person that is in any way passive due to the fact that you will have to produce number of you will be let go.. This place has a high turn over rate.

Stay Away !!
Sr. Mortgage Specialist (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CASeptember 28, 2015
This is a horrible company that burns through people at an extremely high rate. I started in a group of 12 Mortgage Specialist/ Loan Officers and all but one was gone when I left, 10 month after starting. They also, either fired or had another 10+ processors and underwriters quit during the same time period. This company is like a boiler room with everyone drinking energy drink all the time and lying to customers. I am a 23 year veteran of the loan business and was fired for not getting the unrealistic numbers they ask for. You are only as good as your last month's #. You will be expected to work over time and weekends at the last minute, weather you want to or not. The health benefits are way to expensive to afford and the 401k has no company match. If you are not "in" with the managers, you will not last long and will not get any leads to generate business. Management has no idea what they are doing and hire in-experienced people, because no one else will work for them with the terrible reputation they have. Don't even think of going to work for this company and you should send me a thank you letter for warning you.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Terrible place to work. No work life balance.

If you want to become something other then a loan officer this is not the place for you. You will not advance in your career unless you really want to be a loan officer. This company is geared toward one thing and one thing only, for you to come in and become a loan officer.
Pros
There are quarterly events
Cons
lack of moral

You really feel like you are apart of a family as everyone from the top to the bottom knows your name and appreciates what you do. I've never been apart of such a positive giving atmosphere.

Not a positive workplace
Bos II (Former Employee) –  Lake Oswego, ORMarch 3, 2015
Paramount Equity Mortgage I thought would be a refreshing change compared to other mortgage companies. However it's worse with the always ongoing office politics, backstabbing from Sr levels down , the overall moral in the lake Oswego office was low. Also should you like to assist with fraud on borrowers unsigned documents feel free to bring those in , any loan officer or the processing supervisor will gladly sign as the borrower with out borrowers knowledge.
A company that thrives on nothing more than greed. It's really too bad because it had potential.
Pros
many drinking meetings after work as a team
Cons
expensive health coverage, low income within market, fraud
