Houseman/Supervisor, Orlando, FL - July 26, 2014
At Floridays resort, it didn't matter what you knew or what you had accomplished, it was all about WHO you knew. I found this out the hard way having to wait 5 years before I was taken seriously for a promotion. I learned that regardless of anything, you need to cover your tracks because the people there will only help themselves and that culture is passed down from management. The hardest part of my job was being asked to perform the job of 3 people by myself on a given day if someone called in. With no guarantees of help, I was forced to push myself to the limit often. The most enjoyable part of the job was the freedom. At times, there wouldn't be calls on the radio, and I would be able to work without issues. But these times were few and far between as people would often call just to give busy work to you.
