Minimum qualification: B.A. with three years experience providing direct services to delinquent population and families within the juvenile judicial system. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements upon review. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Installs, maintains, and collects electronic monitoring equipment.
Conducts all hook-ups as assigned. Releases from Central Region catchment area facilities other that GYC may be required.
Visits individuals in home, school, place of employment, or any community based sites to provide information on agency services, requirements, procedures, schedules and participation.
Evaluates youth’s progress on daily, weekly, and throughout the entire period of service.
Maintains regular face-to-face, drive-by, and/or telephone contacts with youth and family as outlined in release plans and in line with DRP level systems (Evenings and Weekends).
Help clients to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing their
understanding of self, personal issues, and the client’s role in creating change.
Responds to curfew and electronic monitoring violations immediately on notification.
Maintains accurate documentation of all tracking contacts and other activities involving contact with families and clients.
Reports youth progress and makes recommendations to the assigned case manager. Input into court and formal reports are also required based on field and community observations and interaction.
Attend all mandatory DYC/PYS required training(s), PYS department meetings, and weekly staffing.
Weekly staffing with case managers regarding all clients is required. Pro- active alternatives/solutions to client issues must be openly discussed.
Maintain a tracking caseload of approximately 20-30 youth.
Respond to on-call assignments as outlined per PYS policy.
Provide rotational coverage of the DRP “Work Program” and/or any other programs being provided.
Participation and facilitation in client group sessions will be required.
Complete additional duties as assigned by Management.
