Planning, design, and management services are the fruits of The Dewberry Companies' labor. The company provides architectural and engineering services, planning, program management, and surveying services, as well as environmental compliance, and security and homeland defense services. Dewberry serves private and public-sector clients. However, government customers such as FEMA, the Pentagon, and the US Department of Labor make up a big portion of business. Dewberry also serves departments of transportation, as well as universities, real estate developers and other commercial and institutional groups. Dewberry, which was founded in 1956 and is owned by the Dewberry family, operates from more than 40 offices.
Dewberry also includes the Illinois-based subsidiary Dewberry Architects Inc. (formerly PSA-Dewberry), which was formed in 2005 when Phillips Swager Associates (PSA) was acquired. Dewberry Architects is the company's architectural design and building services operation, which designs buildings such as libraries, hospitals, and correctional facilities.
In 2010 Dewberry expanded its water/wastewater capabilities and grew its geographic footprint in the West through the acquisition of Integra Engineering. The Denver-based company became Dewberry-Integra.
