A typical day at work consists of assisting clients with daily hygiene, encouraging the individuals to be independent and do chores and meaningful activities. you are also responsible for documenting various details that the company/state requires. As a home manager, you are in addition responsible for all shopping receipts, bill pay, budgeting, doctors appointments, ensuring that staff is doing the correct paper work and thoroughly. Also responsible for doing the monthly schedule and attending necessary meetings.
Coworkers all seem to mingle well. doesn't seem to be a lot of drama. high turnover rate though because staff doesn't want to devote time for overtime. Staff wants to be off on weekends or have a set schedule. Unfortunately, in this line of work, that isn't always possible.
Overall, I LOVE the job. I love my individuals, and the company. The job is extremely simple and laid back. However, we just got a new service coordinator in the winter, and she isn't very friendly and extremely difficult to work for. She talks down to her employees and expects a lot for little pay.
In addition, this line of work, no matter the company does not pay well and you truly have to enjoy what you do in order for it to be worth it to stay.
