Fun family environment and kid friendly
FRONT END SUPERVISOR (Current Employee), Round Rock, TX –
Pros: flexibility
Cons: no healthcare, pay is too low.
During a typical day at Party City I meet and greet new customers, make them feel comfortable while I help them meet their party/shopping needs. I learned how to interact with the public in a friendly manner and how to upscale sales. I enjoy working with my co-workers, they make every day interesting and enjoyable. The hardest part of my job is not – more...  having enough of one popular product to sell to everyone in need. What I most enjoy about my job is making people smile, and give them a stress free shopping experience. – less

Would be okay for a job in high school but not for a career
Cashier (Former Employee), Everett –
Pros: flexible hours were offered, upbeat atmosphere on some days, most customers were pleasant, ok place to work
Cons: little to no recognition for work completed, very inefficient overall
I had to put in my two week's without a job lined up because I was seriously concerned about getting so fed up at work that I'd walk out of the store and never come back. There's absolutely no incentive to work there, especially considering the fact that I worked my tail off in that place and still couldn't pay rent. It's just not worth it if you're – more...  trying to find a job where you want to stick it out for the long haul. – less

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor/ Team Lead (Current Employee), Boynton Beach, FL –
Pros: great coworkers, and customers
Cons: unrealistic demands, no hours available
prty city is a fast paced environment, your able to keep busy and never get bored.
i unload all trucks and or deliveries, check in all products via scan gun,or scan label, verify all products against packing slip, put freight out, supervise others on customer service and freight flow, also process exchanges, returns,as well as purchases. ive grown with – more...  this company in many ways its showed me time management, great customers services and store break downs and resets. it has a great team atmosphere, hardest part of the job is reseting/ packing up the seasonal aisle in a day or so after every holiday. working with great people and pleasing customers. – less

Okay play to work constant turnover
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Michigan City –
Pros: discounts seeing the new merchandise first
Cons: unprofessional upper management
Wonderful place to work if you plan parties as I do because of the discounts. That is the only thing that I enjoyed. there were many safety hazards, employees were transferred to different locations carelessly.

A fun working enviornment
Cashier (Current Employee), San Antonio, TX –
Pros: discounts
Cons: short breaks, healthcare.
I get to work with alot of people, meet and talk to people everyday. Handle tough situations and know how to handle angry customers. I've learned how to manage money, work a sales floor, and provide excellent customer service. My other co-workers are all hard working as well, we get the job done. There isn't really a hard part about my job, it's pretty – more...  simple. It does get pretty busy on weekends though. I enjoy getting to meet new people everyday. I work well with people and can start an easy going conversation. – less

Fun Place to Work
Cash Counter (Former Employee), Wichita, KS –
Pros: discounted party supplies
Cons: no benefits, low pay
A typical day at work would consist of counting the money either at opening or closing depending on the shift I was working that day. I handled the deposits, discounts, returns, and opening and closing shifts.
I learned how to fill out all of the closing paper work and get the deposits ready at the end of the night.
Management was very laid back and – more...  fun to work with every day.
My co-workers were fun to be around no matter how busy the day was.
The hardest part of the job was making sure there was change on days that we were very busy, like Halloween.
The most enjoyable part of the job was helping people when they could not find what they were looking for. – less

Great place to work there is just no real chance of job advancement
STORE ASSOCIATE (Current Employee), Crystal Lake, IL –
Pros: flexible hours, great co-workers
Cons: no benifits, only 3 fulltime positions per store.
Party city is all round a great place to work. flexible hours a great environment to learn in and all around just great co-workers. The only problem is the management is very sexiest so unless your a younger better looking girl there really is no chance of job advancement within the company.

Corporation, that provides outstanding options for all types of parties.
Cashier (Current Employee), sacramento, ca –
Pros: wide variety of inventory which customers love.
Cons: out of products faster
A typical day at work would be answering multi phone lines, assisting customers, preparing balloon orders, providing customer service. I have learned since I have been at party city is that in each position that I have had in customer service each corporation may be different but we all agree on one thing providing great customer service to our customers. – more...  I have learned within the corporation is that not everyone is the same and not everyone believes the same things but we all try to work as a team and we get threw the day faster. The hardest part of my job is not caring items that our on our website that we do online. The most enjoyable part of my job is being around people, providing customer service, making a customer laugh, smile and have good things to say about our company and also myself. – less

Party City is a great party supplies of fun party goods, invitations and costumes.
Cashier (Current Employee), Jersey City, NJ –
*A typical day involves me checking my register, making sure I have the correct amount of $150 in my draw. Blowing up balloons, answering and providing knowledge to every customer. Cleaning my area and entire store after closing

*I learned that you must have a lot of patience and tolerance working at retail. Also that a friendly smile goes a long way

*My – more...  co-workers are great though we may have our disagreements we always do what we have to do to get things done.

*I enjoy the most helping customers find products that they were looking for all the over. Assisting customers with in-store coupons seeing their reliefs when they saved couple of dollars. – less
