Systems Coordinator, East Windsor, NJ - January 8, 2015
It was a great opportunity to work on a large scale construction project. They really let me get my hands on nearly everything involved with the management of highway construction. A typical day would entail my manager looking to create reports on different aspects of the job including material metrics (such as concrete, asphalt, earthwork), labor and equipment, financials, and other aspects across the program. I learned about querying data and creating many different tables and charts. My managers were all great. They were very helpful and gave me great feedback. I loved that it was a new challenge every day! The hardest part of my job was when I transitioned to do more civil engineering based tasks. I was not educated as a civil engineer, and there was a lot to learn on such a big project. I'm still learning every day.
