PCE's mission is to provide financial services and insight to Florida-based businesses. In this effort, the concept of a market value index based on Florida's micro-cap public companies was borne. PCE believes that the PCE Florida Indexâ„¢ will assist business owners, CEO's, and CFO's with a performance measurement tool and insightful research. Collectively, the companies measured in the PCE Florida Indexâ„¢ provide an "at-a-glance" view of one of the most overlooked business segments of the state's economy.
In 2002, PCE approached the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park to assist in research that led to the development of The PCE Florida Indexâ„¢. Led by Professor J. Clay Singleton, Ph.D., CFA, Crummer MBA students researched different styles of indexes to determine the appropriate style index before we chose a market value weighted index. We are thankful for the assistance given by Crummer.
The character of the index is distinctly different from other familiar indices such as the Russell 2000, Dow and the S&P 500 in that it will provide a view of how value is being created and managed among small public companies in Florida. Also, the PCE Florida Indexâ„¢ will provide a representative picture of private businesses in Florida.
In addition to the PCE Florida Indexâ„¢, we have created economic sector indices based on the companies represented in the PCE Florida Indexâ„¢. The economic sector indices will provide even greater insight into the different economic business sectors in Florida. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
