Peabody was a great place to work for me. They took good care of me and my family for over 32 years.
Heavy Equipment Maintenance Trainer (Former Employee) – Peabody Training Center Gillette Wyo. – May 14, 2017
When I transferred to this position, Peabody had just started their training center. My assignment was to launch, develop and implement a maintenance training program designed to make our technicians more efficient at troubleshooting and repairing our mining equipment, to increase equipment availability and lower maintenance cost, while at the same time reducing lost time accidents and equipment damage.
I learned to maintain and repair heavy equipment and more importantly how convey this information to others.
Management was mostly good.
Hardest part of the job was to learn to use computers and electronic equipment. Also passing the MSHA electrical certification test.
The most enjoyable part was passing my knowledge and experience on to the younger generation and knowing how much it will help them and the company.
Stable job with good benefits for over 32 years, doing what I love to do and getting paid well for it. Also getting to know so many quality people.
Getting laid off was bad, but Peabody gave me a good package, and it gave me the opportunity to start my own business, doing what I love, long drive each day to NARM.
