Great place to learn
Analyst (Former Employee), Vancouver WA – April 27, 2013
Pros: free use of gym - formerly a nautilus demo room; excellent work/life balance, plenty of opportunity to learn, fantastic cafe, & on-site soccer field
Cons: disconnect between upper management and employees; too many projects and competing priorities, difficult for new employees to learn-the training is lacking
Overall, this is a great place to work...if you like working for a large organization. There is too much going on all the time and not enough people who understand any of it. From an IT perspective, they are in a world of hurt. My advice to management - take time to walk around and meet people that work for you. Ask questions - find out if yet another – more... massive implementation/merger/acquisition is a good idea given the lack of resources (employees) and the fact that no projects are ever done right. Stop setting unrealistic goals. Try showing up to the PM meetings so you can get a clue about the insane amount of failure that is going on. Stop putting band aids on everything. Just stop running a mile a minute and take time to evaluate. Why the rush to do everything at once? – less

Over worked and under appreciated - Nightmare
Trainer (Former Employee), Vancouver, Eugene - Oregon – April 27, 2013
Pros: free coffee
Cons: everything else
Their Go-Live with Epic AMB is a nightmare and will be an on-going nightmare for staff and contractors. Everyone passes the buck and work simply does get done or is incomplete. The quality of tools, communication severely lacks and great people are frustrated and have a hard time feeling successful. I do not know became replaced with I do not care. – more... Just horrible experience all the way around. – less

Great
Phlebotomist (Former Employee), Springfield, OR – April 25, 2013
Pros: great company, amazing co-workers
Cons: under staffed at times
I enjoyed working at Peace Health. My typical day started between 7:30-8:00 am. I have worked in phlebotomy for the past 15 years. I drew difficult draws from infants to seniors and also worked in house calls, care facilities, and home draws. While employed with Peace Health I have learned data entry, inputting patient information and lab procedures. – more... I truly enjoyed working with many great co-workers/friends who possess strong work ethics. The hardest part of my job was being understaffed at times, but the most rewarding aspect of my job was the patients. I loved working with the life long patients as well as the people new to our company. – less

Wow! 5-star employer!
Patient Financial Services Representative (Former Employee), Eugene, OR – April 8, 2013
Pros: great benefits, healthcare, retirement fund.
Cons: not enough variety, we were so big that our jobs were very specialized and if you billed medicare, you billed medicare
Good pay, well-trained management, employee training excellent. We were given lots of information about what was happening with the company and what we could expect with our jobs, any changes coming, etc. Management was really open.

Going through a lot of changes
Business Applications Manager (Former Employee), Vancouver WA – March 1, 2013
Many of the staff concerned with the on going reorganization (Business and IT) and upcoming joint venture with CHI and how it will play out. Greater company concers are how payments from the federal government will shape the company's future. Losing alliance with Kaiser in Washington a concern.

Staff are great to work with.

Morally bankrupt and incompetent politicians
IT (Current Employee), Bellingham – February 14, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: most people are incapable of performing their job functions
Rampant incompetence leads to a politically hostile environment of protectionist tactics and perversion of the stated mission.

Unethical place to work being a Catholic Hospital
Tech (Former Employee), Florence – February 1, 2013
Pros: some of the people
Cons: broken trust in department
This could possibly be the best place of employment in Florence but the Managent is lacking. Don't get me wrong, the job it's self is rewarding and there are some wonderful people. However, management will support the back stabbers and two faced liars. They do not promot chain of command or suggest triffels amoung each other be worked out face to face. – more... Managemnt supports the weak and the HR department is only there to protect the employer so don't bother ever asking them for help! So many changes are taking place at peace health/peace harbor right now. Be prepared to NOT be included on knowing what is going on as communication in certain departments is lacking and favorites are played. It is sad and unfortunate. – less

Calif – February 20, 2013

I'm begining to think that all places of employment are that way. I worked for a School District that was like that. Both places that I have worked at in the last 22 years have been the same the sad thing is it's the heads of the departments that are the biggest Back Stabbers.

Unpleasant place to work.
Lab assistant (Former Employee), Springfield, OR – February 1, 2013
Pros: free coffee.
Cons: the "bottom line" is more important then a friendly workplace environment.
I worked over 7 years in the lab. In the beginning it was a great place to work, but after they built the hospital it starting getting worse. They went way over budget and had to cut expensive somewhere. They started charging the employees to park at work; tiny raises. Profit sharing was out the window. I'm surprised they didn't stop buying coffee for – more... the employees. I would still be working there if I hadn't decided to quit because of how they treat their employee's now. People have retired early and many have quit and moved on to other jobs. Just look how many jobs are opened with Peace Health; that's a very good sign right there. – less

Community Support, Comfort and Caring!
Clerical Assistant (Former Employee), Eugene, OR – December 4, 2012
Pros: everything!
I drove from Sutherlin to Eugene to work every day. The drive was pleasant, relaxing but quite an adventure in rainy weather. I learned how to apply medical terminology, process orders for Home Health care quickly and to utilize my time more efficiently. My co-workers were hand picked, the very best I have seen in many years. The hardest part of the – more... job was leaving. The laughter, the tone set by the staff and relaxed atmosphere made this job one of the finest I have had the pleasure to work for. Thank you! – less

Health Care Organization
Patient Support (Former Employee), Oregon – December 2, 2012
PeaceHealth is undergoing a lot of changes right now because of Obama Care. I believe a lot of organizations are trying to figure out how to function in this new environment and how to continue to provide benefits to their staff. PeaceHealth has been a company that cares about it's employees.

Everybody at PeaceHealth is treated with respect.
MO Adjuster/Workers Compensation Assistant (Current Employee), Bellevue, WA – May 15, 2012
Pros: excellent benefits, excellent people
Cons: moving the bellevue office to vancouver
PeaceHealth is a nonprofit Catholic Healthcare company. The culture of the company is lead by a mission statement and supported by the values of Respecting Individual Human Dignity and Worth, Stewardship, Collaboration and Social Justice. It's been a wonderful place to work for, unfortunately the Bellevue system office is moving to Vancouver, WA. I – more... had hoped to retire with this company but have decided not to move to Vancouver. – less

MYRA – June 29, 2012

I would like to comment especially on the patient care that Peace Health gives to it's patient. My family member was treated with such dignity and love, and kindess that I cannot express enough sincere gratitude for how they were treated in the surgical center. I would also like to be employed with Peace Health in an office environment I keep applying but I lack 1 year of experience in medical offices. I am a good worker and can start in the HIM! I have had extensive alpha filing experience and I also took medical terminology. Good care for my family member who could ask for more. The staff was wonderful to my family member, Nurses and Doctors you have outdone yourselves. Keep up the great work and let God help you...

when i worked there the co-workers were great to work with. The management was less than acceptable.
lab assistant II (Former Employee), longview, wa – March 1, 2012
Pros: awesome benifit pacgage, to include payiny your health insurance for you, loved working for the company, awesome work enviroment, good crew to work with.
Cons: refused to hire the needed staff, did not release staff that was not up to par, did not seem fair on advancement, not much of a home life, because of all the overtime expected, i had 1700 hrs of overtime in 4 years, way to much.
From my experience the management at the time of my employment was playing favorites. Ignoring union policy on alot of issues. was severly understaffed. People were manditoried at least three times a week. Alot of over time. Not much of a home life if you were low on the list of seniority.
