Find another delivery company
Driver/Ambassador (Former Employee) –  Hanover, MDMay 28, 2017
I worked for this company for a few months and let me tell you, the work load is hard if you haven't had much experience delivering heavy products. The management is terrible. They will write you up for the simple things, and you are held accountable for there mistakes. Trust me this is not a bitter review I just want to warn others of my experience and hope you choose another company that will treat you better.

Peapod is a great business for people to gather work experience an the benefits are horrible. You do have advancement opportunities with the company if the managers like you. Work flow is pretty easy just long hours.
Pros
Benefits ok pay
Cons
Long work night/days high turnover rate cold in the frozen food section of the warehouse

S&OP Specialist (Current Employee) –  Skokie, ILMay 17, 2017
It is very hard to complete projects here because no one is responsible to have any accountability. People are just happy to be here and have a job, so things move very slow here.
Leadership does a poor job of communicating.
Pros
free pizza one day a month
Cons
poor leadership

Needs work in regard to employee appreciation
Product Selector (Current Employee) –  Hanover, MDMay 12, 2017
Not a pleasant environment. Employees are not treated with respect, nor are they appreciated for hard work. Overtime is mandatory and seldom is there advance notice for this requirement.
Pros
Pleasant employees
Cons
Poor management/employee relations

Warehouse Lead (Current Employee) –  Hanover, MDApril 20, 2017
Peapod is a great place to work. I started out as a temp and within 4 months of being with the company I was promoted to warehouse lead. As long as you are willing to work the hours, the money is great. They offer a lot of overtime. The supervisors have been nothing but nice to me and have went above and beyond to let me know I was doing a great job and my hard work was appreciated. The hardest part of the job would be the long hours and standing on your feet a lot but it comes with the position. The most enjoyable part of the job would have to be the friendly environment. If only the breaks were a little longer and I didn't have to drive an hour one way back and forth and pay toll fees each way, this would be the perfect place to work.
Pros
great benefits, 401k offered, friendly environment, overtime
Cons
short breaks, the drive back and forth (i live an hour away)

Great work environment, the only problem is the hours for the second shift and it is hard to move up or change because scheduling is done by seniority

Peapod is a great company but there are some flaws.
Product Selector (Current Employee) –  Hanover, MDJanuary 23, 2017
The organization and union of Peapod is wonderful but some things on the inside could use a change. This is with all companies to be completely honest.

Driver
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) –  Norwalk, CTJanuary 23, 2017
Lifting groceries is labor and will take a toll on the body. Promotions not easy to come by. Union company so expect dedicated wages for dues owed. Benefits after 1 year service. Despite the fact that the elements of the seasons do have a great deal with the position. Driving in the cold snow, wet rain, cool autumn & hot summer is the hardest part of the job. Get a text message the to inform you that you have delivers & arrive 30 minutes prior to start of route. GPS navigation is provided. Prep truck for route, hand truck paperwork. Delivery can consists of 15 through 30 plus stops to be delivered in a 5 through 7 in a half hour to deliver groceries to customers that ordered online. Tips can vary from $2 - $100 cash tips increase during the holidays and tips can be cash or check as well as credit card which is added to your next week earnings. Light duty is dispatching or assist management. Travel with the concept that you represent a corporation that services provided by a supermarket. Lazy people, disabled people, elderly people, wealthy and middle class people businesses and organizations keep you in your delivery position. As long as they will keep ordering online you come in and do your job, and don't get into or mix and meddle in the office politics, respect all (you have to work with them NOT like them) you can and will surely be able to be of service. Growth in the business is senior seniority trickle down when available.
Pros
Great benefit, job security
Cons
The four Seasons physical activity has long term effects on the body

It suck, The people there are cool. But they make you work overtime. its not optional its mandatory. And breaks are too short instead of 15 min breaks it should be 20 min breaks.
