The POST Social Worker is responsible for providing various interventions which enhance patient and family coping and quality of life for children diagnosed with cancer and their families This person works with children and families around issues related to diagnosis, treatment, and illness. This is accomplished through individual, group, and family counseling. Other methodologies include education, medical play, procedural support, and other services which promote optimum developmental trajectories. Services are rendered in hospital, clinics, outpatient settings, and POST offices depending on the family’s choice and needs. It also involves palliative and end-of-life care. This position operates within a multi-disciplinary team for a local non-profit. FL license required (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT). Bilingual preferred.
