Summer Temporary, General Service Worker, Shipping (Former Employee), Willard, OHJune 10, 2014
Pros: safe work place, friendly co-workers
Cons: shipping is labor intensive.
your typical factory job where everyone has a job and they all do it, I was only a temporary employee but really enjoyed working there for the short amount of time. pay was fare and the raises happened automatically. shipping got intense at times but it was the middle of summer working in steel building.

Fun, Challenging, Self Starting and Self Managed career
District Sales Manager (Former Employee), Baltimore, MDMarch 11, 2014
Pros: solid company reputation, company car, management/co workers
Cons: new it equipment great but some programs were a tad robotic and challenged creativty.
Typical Monday would consist of checking previous week results and gathering reports for sales conversations with group individually. Proactively reaching out to customer field management, sharing good results or any opportunities they might have and then following up with my team and customers.

My week would consist of many different things...(Route – more... Rides, Store Resets, Store audits, Equipment ordering, Vendor meetings, Company conference calls, Route profit meetings, Route sales, Customer calls, Transportation/Operations coordination's, Product requests...time management and being a strong self starter is a must.

Upper Management team highly tenured with company, good Sales Leadership Team members, I enjoyed working for them.

Co-workers great group of teammates, very knowledgeable and individuals that I could call friends. We kept each other sharp and abreast of the common goal...hit the number, but most importantly build relationships in the field.

Biggest opportunity...keeping independent contractors on the same plane with the company direction. How I approached it was set your standards and expectations high from the beginning and again build a trusting relationship with your team. Learn there job as well as them.

The most rewarding part of the job was my ability to run my geographic territory as if it was my own business and that's how I approached it. Your creative edge and the ability to take calculated risk was my driven force, beside the number. – less

Company with very HIGH turnover
Ingredient Technologist (Former Employee), Norwalk, CTFebruary 23, 2014
I really enjoyed my job for the seven months I was there. I met some really nice people. However, I was a contractor and Pepperidge Farm is notorious for hiring contractors. I signed a year contract only for that contract to end before the year was up...apparently because of budget costs. This company has a very high turnover...you could be here for – more... 12 years leave for surgery and be out for months, only to come back to your job and you're let go after only a month without notice. Although, this company does have some bright spots, kitchen with endless amounts bread you can toast...goldfish machines...great food in the cafeteria, holiday parties sponsored by the company. – less

a productive, energetic and friendly environment
Warehouse Associate/Baker (Former Employee), Bloomfield, CTJanuary 18, 2014
Pros: suitable breaks
Cons: healthcare
A typical day at work for me is working above and beyond that is expected of me, i have learnt that lending a hand where it is needed if i am available provides a suitable working environment. Management is always respected and should lead by example as for my co workers i just want for us to be working together in unity and help each other if needed. – more... The hardest part of the job would be just to survive a hostile environment and still be able to produce the level of work that is expected of me on the other hand the most enjoyable part would the tasks that are given to me on a daily basis are done then i have feel accomplished and for that i enjoy my job. – less

Delivery Driver/Vendor (Current Employee), Birmingham, ALJanuary 16, 2014
Pros: flexible schedule
Cons: limited benefits
Shift starts at 3AM until job is completed. I load the truck from the distribution center and deliver to several retail stores. As a vendor I check in new merchandise and remove any outdated merchandise. I communicate orders and complete purchase orders daily. I make decisions as needed to ensure stocking is complete.

Was able to work in all aspects of production as an unassighned
Bakery Machine Operator (Former Employee), Downers Grove, ILJanuary 7, 2014
Pros: working in different areas and cleaning and sanatizing after an allergent change over.
Cons: having 10 sick days a year, using 8 and being fired.
Arrive on time. safety proctor meetings, helped create OSHA certified instructions on how to run every divider, molder, and oven. Trained new employees and summer subs. The hardest part was keeping my end of the product from becoming waste when the other part of the line went down, That meant physically racking hot pans full of bread off of a molder, – more... out of a proofer, or out of a oven. It was still a fast pass job and I loved the challenge. – less

Regional Sales Manager (Current Employee), East Brunswick, NJDecember 11, 2013
Pros: the ability to formulate and implement your own strategies.
Cons: non productive bureaucracy.
A typical day involved working with brokers or meeting with customers in order to develop new and existing business.
Have learned to effectively manage brokers, both regional and national in scope. Have enjoyed working with co-workers as team in order to maximize efficiencies and results. The hardest part of the job would be the bureaucracy that sometimes – more... must be navigated in order to achieve desired results. The most enjoyable part of the job are the relationships that are developed. Also, very much enjoy the challenge of building a business. – less

Fast pace making the day go by very fast
Driver/Laborer (Current Employee), Baltimore, MDNovember 18, 2013
Pros: face paced environment, time flies while constantly moving.
Cons: no job guarentee, if busy steedy lon 3 day shift, slow hardly no work
Meet with owner of the Pepperidge Farm route day before in regards to next day delivery. Next day drive truck to the depot and pull my order for that day and load the truck. Then i would start hitting stops based on same location, mandatory stops, and receiving time windows to meet. Deliver goods to all super markets and monitor inventory to make sure – more... its accurate through a Pepperidge Farm electronic hand held. Along the route you can to meet many different drivers and receivers as kinda like my co-workers. The hardest part is just the physical aspect of loading and unloading at different stops and even that wasn't bad. Most enjoyable part is that your constatly moving, so the time moves fast and over before you knew it. – less

Poor management, inept HR, frequent layoffs, and poorly treated contractors
R&D/QA (Former Employee), Norwalk, CTOctober 22, 2013
Pros: product giveaways and discount store
Cons: back stabbing management, inept hr
The mantra which they tell new employees is that it is the best of the both worlds, i.e. benefits of the large Campbell Soup parent company, but still small enough to care and grow their people. Complete utter nonsense. Clueless management. Incompetent and useless HR department who routinely lose applications. Kiss up to your boss or expect to be laid – more... off in the next round. Large part of the workforce are contractors, many of whom are interns or recent college graduates who are hoping they will be hired, but 90% of them are strung along and finally let go. – less
