a productive and fun workplace
Production Associate (Former Employee), Dothan, AL – May 9, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: health insurance
A typical work day at Perdue Farms was great i actually enjoyed production work i never worked with production before then but i love the fast speed it takes your mind off of being at work. I learned responsibility and maturity. Managment was ok sometimes, but every manager is not always fair but it was nothing to complain about. My co-workers were – more... awesome they help get threw my training stage with no problems and they made me feel welcome. the hardest part of the job was cutting the chicken shoulders. The most enjoyable part if the job was getting to interact with new co-workers and meeting new people. – less

I've learned how to pack so many and more trays per minute, How to operate a production tray packing line. I love working with who I work with but the hardest part is being in the cold but I've overcame that and I have nothing that can be hard to me as longs as I put my mind to it.

great place to work
General Laborer (Former Employee), Monterey, TN – March 1, 2013
Pros: they had a restaurant on the premises, excellent benefits, great pay.
Cons: the only con to perdue was a langauge barrier with latino employees
A typical day of work at perdue was to get the line set up for production.Organize my books, prepare my paperwork for the safety boards .From there i done an hourly check of pounds per hour of the production we ran. When someone was out such as being sick or vacation day i would often take there place doing my job plus theres. I learned different types – more... of jobs ,which was great because i love learning how to do new things. The people i worked with were great. The hardest part of my job was learning how to communicate with different races.I loved my job at perdue, i would have stayed but i was going thru a divorce and i guess i let it get the best of me. – less

productive but unpleasant to work for
Lead person (Former Employee), Perry, GA – February 28, 2013
Pros: great insurance
Cons: management does not care about people only the product
Great insurance and enjoyed working with different people but there is no concern for the quality of the product only quantity. The management are rude, unconcerned, selfish, and feels as tho the associates opinions mean absolutely nothing. You go to work walking on pens and needles.

I gave the company the benefit of the doubt and was disappointed.
Catcher/ Poultry Processor/ Floorman (Former Employee), Rockingham, NC – February 27, 2013
Pros: you get paid every week.
Cons: the list is far too long.
I cannot give a good review for this company. I worked for Perdue over six years ago and I still will not eat any of their products even if it is fast food. They use foreign labor (imported from mexico, was caught and now they import asian workers) they steal hours and wages, and you're liable to get stabbed or cut or any night.
