Positive work environment lack of proper management
Customer Service/ Professional Sales Associate (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – May 15, 2013
Pros: friendly environment
Cons: poor communication between management and staff
Poor Management and major communication issues. Co-workers were very up beat and positive individuals however very caddy and gossipy. Management showed major favoritism and suffered from lack of communication and direction. Over all I enjoyed working for Perrigo because of the people I directly worked around. The hardest part of my job was interpreting – more... what my superiors wanted done do to lack of communication and mixed messages. – less

Continuously Changing
o Quality Assurance Sub Contract Technician (Current Employee), Allegan, MI – January 30, 2013
Pros: full benefits
Cons: not challenging enough
Great co-workers in an area where it is extremely important to work together. It is important to be at work and staying current with the Goods manufacturing practice due to the continuous changes that they are making.

my 7 weeks at perrigo
packaging specialist / manpower (Former Employee), 128th st, holland, mi – January 29, 2013
Pros: lady hi-lo driver, a couple nice people who tried to help me because they could see what was happenning.
Cons: treatment of good employees.
i learned that perrigo employees can pick a utinsel up off of the floor and throw it in the clean bin , drop a skid, short a tablet, spill the tablets. i learned that a perrigo person does not have to wear gloves or sleeves but a manpower person better. i learned that a manager (in my case a certain manager) can doctor her records to protect a perrigo – more... employee but don't expect her to do the same for you if you're manpower. as a manpower person i had no problems my first six weeks. (no discipline problems, no work performance problems) then during my 7th week i had a lady on my line who did not want me to help her. my boss told me to go do it anyway. i said, she does not like me and she does not want me in her space. my line leader started treating me very badly and started finding fault with everything i did. you can guess who got terminated. i have had a job for 46 years of my life. i have never been fired..................until tonight.
i wanted to work at perrigo. but now...well...not so much. i am a very good employee and i did not deserve this. sometimes supervisors don't do their homework. he was not a mean supervisor.....just nieve.
the line leader made me work on the hopper for 2 hours straight and all she could do was smerk about it. the line leader could do this and she did.
my sister died today. perrigo thinks they caused my biggest heartache. they didn't have a clue. i just handed the supervisor my badge, i shook his hand and i left very quietly. – less

I too had a horrible similar experience. You can be the most reliable, best worker in the world, but if even ONE full time employee does not like you for whatever reason, you are DONE ;-(

Intern
Statistics Intern (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – January 20, 2013
Being an intern at a large organization is very different. I had a hard time finding my way around and getting to know those around me. My job didn't really require me to interact with my coworkers so I often felt bored and lonely.

Great paying job with great benefits. Can be difficult to find a work/life balance at times.
Receiving Specialist (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – January 9, 2013
Pros: excellent work environment, good gmp practices
Cons: can be made to feel like a machine sometimes instead of a human being.
Come into work and communicate with the shift before me. I had excellent relationships with my co-workers and management. The hardest part of the job was challenging myself to go above and beyond my job description to help others and other departments. At the same time that was my most enjoyable part of the job too. Because I developed great relationships – more... with co-workers within my department as well as in other departments. I miss and enjoyed the job I had there at Perrigo. It's a great place to work, I regret leaving and have nothing bad to say. Wish I still worked there. – less

Horrible treatment of ManPower employees
Line worker (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – January 5, 2013
Pros: good pay if you can get hired in
Cons: everything else
The full time employees at this company are notorious for treating the temp workers VERY VERY BADLY. ManPower will not stand up for you as Perrigo is their bread and butter. If you are a middle-aged woman, please do not waste your time trying to get hired into this company.

Packing Specialist (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – December 2, 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed the tasks and challenges I faced at my last job. I learned and grew in several areas including my work ethics, teamwork and the basics of factory labor. The hardest challenge I faced at work was maintaining and continuing to improve my productivity along with striving to contantly do better in order to advance. Many factors of the – more... job were enjoyable such as working with great co-workers, learning from a fantastic management team and finding a line of work I could learn new things at everyday. – less

worked in quality services plant 5 for manpower and was awful
lab tech (Former Employee), allegan – November 21, 2012
Pros: i learned about poor lab practices
Cons: manpower employees are regared as cattle
This was about 15 yrs ago, third shift $8 an hour and no benefits. Manpowers christmas bonus was an insulting plastic travel mug with hershey kisses inside which found its way into the trash. The Perrrigo people decided i was supposed to start working weekends as well as the M-F week and sugar coated it by explaining they were doing it for me not for – more... them even though the terms were that i was exempt from weekends. I didn't show up for them and if they had anything to say I was going to walk out. The worst thing about the job is that the word QUALITY SERVICES on the lab door is a sham. I saw daily and serious examples of illicit things done mostly with chromatography manipulation to make out of spec data within limits. It was done quite in the open and the concensus was that you don't want to slow things down by doing exactly what you were supposed to do. I have heard of recalls of superpotent perrigo prod recalls since then and suspect these were examples of this. They don't pay people much so this is what they get in exchange. I myself would not take part in any of this data manipulating and was shunned by the people doing wrong things. I was very unimpressed with what i saw there for 6 months and manpower does nothing for you except make money off you while doing nothing. – less

I didnt have much luck with this company
Manufacturing Associate (Former Employee), Kalamazoo, MI – November 4, 2012
Terminated unfairly here. Was off for medical surgery, needed more time off to heal, not any sick time left. they didnt coopoperate. Couldve been my career here, instead ended up in faliure. My advice make sure you have enough sick time, and if fired get a lawyer and fight it, the compensation and benefits here are the best around. But they dont treat – more... you like your important. – less

Very fast paced company and great working enviorment.
Distribution Specialist (Former Employee), Allegan, MI – April 11, 2012
Pros: great wage, benefits, incentive bonuses and appreciation
At Perrigo you would get your job detail. Had to pick orders for various accounts and following different specs. They had a great working enviorment aswell as other co-workers. Some days you really had to work in order to finish your order which they expected pretty much all the time. All in all it was a great place to work for.

A workplace where everybody is very friendly and safe.
Packing Operator (Former Employee), Wrafton, Braunton – February 12, 2013
I Loved working at perrigo as it was very hands-on, on a daily basis you would be on the factory floor on time and if even 1 minute late it would count as 15 minutes wages lost, I learnt how to work productively as a team, how to meet new people within a very close company, i would say the hardest part of the job is that when the machines would regularly – more... break down you will be reverted to mopping or cleaning (which was not bad in small doses). – less
