PetSmart, Inc. is a specialty provider of products, services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets. The Company has identified a group of pet owners that the Company calls pet parents. The Company opened or acquired 100 net new stores in the fiscal year ended February 3, 2008 (fiscal 2007), and at the end of the fiscal year 2007, operated 1,008 – more... retail stores in North America. PetSmart stores typically range in size from 19,000 to 27,000 square feet, and carry a selection of pet supplies at everyday low prices. The Company offers more than 10,500 items, including nationally recognized brand names, as well as a selection of private brands across a range of product categories. The Company opened its 878,000 square foot combination distribution center in Newnan, Georgia in July 2007. In fiscal 2007, the Company completed the exit of its State Line Tack equine product line including the sale of StateLineTack.com and its equine catalog.
