Working at Physical Therapist

Activcare is a terrible place to work for. They lie straight to your face. Hire people without credentials. Tell you are doing a great job, that they like you, and you fit in great and then poof all of a sudden you are let go without a reason. They don't believe they have to tell you one. In addition, when getting your last paycheck, the uneducated co-owner Brad will tell you that you Activcare has a week from your last day on the job to give you your check (Lie #1). He also tells you that it has to be mailed to you (Lie #2). Bg receiving your last paycheck. I spoke to the other co-owner Charlie about this and his response was something to the effect that I guess we might have to break the law. Nice, real nice business ethics there. Just goes to show you what kind of company they are. In addition during my last week, a physical therapist gave her two weeks’ notice and they let her go then and there. Nice attitude toward employees right before the holidays. Happy Holidays-now get the heck out of our building. Here is the NC Statue regarding last paychecks. Note that the only way the company can mail you your last paycheck is only if the employee requests it. N.C. Gen. Stat 95.25.7 states: Employees whose employment is discontinued for any reason shall be paid all wages due on or before the next regular payday either through the regular pay channels or by mail if requested by the employee. So as you can see from above, the only way a last paycheck is mailed to a former employee is ONLY if they request the company to do so. So you can pick it up from their office.
