No such thing as work/life balance
Former Employee, Redmond, WA - March 20, 2015
When I applied, I had asked how many hours would be expected and was given a specific number. It was less than I was able to work, so I thought all would be well. Once I started, I was expected to work 12-16 hour days on my actual work, and to come in on weekends for a special project. It was doable for the others that did not have family but no mercy was given to those who had a spouse and children to attend to. When I said I could not work the hours required, after working every weekend for 6 months in a row (as an exempt employee, by the way) I was not viewed favorably.
