Physiotherapy Associates wants you to get physical -- physical therapy, that is. The company provides outpatient rehabilitation and orthotics and prosthetics services through 700 clinics in about 35 states. Its patients include injured workers or athletes recovering from orthopedic injuries or neurological conditions. Physiotherapy Associates offers services in general orthopedics, pediatrics, multiple sclerosis, spinal care, women's health, and acute inpatient care, as well as injury prevention programs and pediatric and geriatric therapy. Its orthotics and prosthetics clinics fit patients with orthotic braces and prosthetic limbs. In 2012 private equity firm Court Square Capital Partners acquired the company.
After building up the company since acquiring it from Strykerin 2007, investment firms Water Street Healthcare Partners and Wind Point Partners sold the company in 2012 to Court Square Capital Partners.
In 2007 Water Street merged Physiotherapy Associates with Wind Point's Benchmark Medical subsidiary, and the combined companies, under joint ownership by Water Street and Wind Point, began to operate as Physiotherapy Associates. Following its merger, Physiotherapy Associates continued to pursue its growth initiatives by opening or acquiring new clinics. The firm also partnered with private practice clinics, providing administration and human resource services.
In 2010 Physiotherapy Associates opened 10 clinics in Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersy, North Carolina (its first in the state), Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Plans for 2011 included opening more than 35 clinics throughout the country.
