Piedmont Gardens a delightful upscale not-for-profit continuing care retirement community is in need of a new DON to provide leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the nursing department operations in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities. Piedmont Gardens is a community that encompasses all levels of care, independent living, memory care, assisted living and skilled nursing.
As the Director of Nursing you will manage directly or indirectly professionals and support employees; including day-to-day supervision, employee relations and staff development, oversee the provision of services to individuals primarily over the age of 65; maintain effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff, and other departments including communicating daily with department managers, residents, families, and the general public in operation of the nursing facility. Lead strategic development and functional services. Manage department finances, including budgeting and capital investment expenses.

The qualified candidate will have 5+ years experience in nursing with emphasis in Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, or Home Care with a minimum of 3-5 years proven managerial experience. You will also be a cooperative team leader, problem solver with excellent people and communication skills (oral and written) with a commitment to excellence. Must be a registered nurse (RN) licensed in California or reciprocity eligible, nurse practitioner preferred, with advanced college degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration from accredited school. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
