Piedmont Gardens a non-profit continuing care retirement community is seeking a licensed Administrator of Skilled Nursing to be our Health Services Director and to provide day-to-day administrative leadership across our continuum of care including Assisted Living, Residential Plus Health Center, Special Care Unit, Wellness, Home Care and our future Memory Support Division. Reporting to the Executive Director assists in administering the affairs of the local Community in accordance with company standards and federal, state and local laws and ordinances. May act as Community Administrator in the Executive Director's absence.
Directly supervises management staff in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Wellness departments. Oversees Health Center personnel, coordinates all administrative activities with the Director of Nursing and achieves results through delegated staff work. Performs daily rounds in each level of care to observe residents and ensure that levels meet resident's needs, ensuring all appropriate and necessary care is provided. Interacts with residents and their families, responsible parties and staff. Attends Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living care conferences. Ensures timely completion of annual and change of condition assessments. Monitors the Health Center environment to provide residents quality medical/nursing care, dignity and comfort in the least restrictive environment. Promotes the health and welfare of the residents. Acts as a liaison with the community Medical Director. Promotes and protects the rights of each resident. Manages community contracts and relationships with vendors and other business partners. Establishes and preserves positive relationships with individuals and groups as needed including community department managers and staff, corporate office executives and staff, the Board of Directors, Board of Advisors, Presidents of Resident Council, government agencies and suppliers.
Qualified applicants should have a Bachelors degree, Masters degree preferred, with a major in a discipline concerned with service to people such as nursing, social work, hospital administration, theology, business or public administration, gerontology or related field with at least 3-5 years experience working in a field related to facility administration at a senior management level or any equivalent combination of training and experience with provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must be a hands-on manager, possess above average computer skills, be self-motivated, work well with a culturally diverse work environment, with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of public administration principles and practices, with particular reference to nursing community or retirement community operations and administration.
Licensing & Certification Requirements - Must possess a valid license to administer a Skilled Nursing Facility - SNF as required by the state of California. License must be kept current as required by state law. Possess a current California RCFE Certification or comparable state licensure or ability to obtain license within 90 days.
