I love working with customers
Cashier (Former Employee), Racine, WI – May 17, 2013
Pros: we had a christmas luncheon, and also a christmas party where everyone got together at a place and have a secret santa
Cons: the policies keep changing and it wasn't fun anymore.
My review ofPiggly Wiggly was a great working environment I
learned a lot during the time I was there, The management was a
terrific team of people my co workers were excellent to work with.
The hardest part was when we were bought out by another person
and it changed everything so I enjoyed my time there and got to know people and the way we did business, – more... the hours were great
and I loved it. – less

fun workplace but also had its cons. Never any room for advancement and pay was not good enough.
Cashier (Former Employee), Madisonville, LA – May 12, 2013
Pros: it was like a family renion at times. i knew everybody in town
Cons: the pay was not good enough and no room for advancement
A typical day at work would be to check out coustmers and to front the store. I would have closeing duties but thats only when i worked nights. That would conist of takeing out trash, cleaning the salad bar, ect. Ive learned that everyday you need to put a smile on your face even though your haveing a bad day. i was only a cashier so therefore i really – more... had no room for advancement and the pay was not that good. There was really no reason for me to stay there. I got along with my co-workers and there was no hard part to my job. Well except for the lottery machine lol it was trickey at times. – less

Very relaxed yet no advancement
Cashier (Former Employee), Kiel, WI – May 1, 2013
My typical day at work consisted of customer service, money handling, organization, and cleaning. It was a very hard company to advance in, which is why I moved on. Management was flexible, but the turnover rate was very high with part time co-workers. I loved getting to know my customers.

Entertaining Workplace
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LA – April 30, 2013
Pros: paid weekly
Cons: healthcare
My work experience at Piggly Wiggly was very entertaining! I did have the chance of being the first female Assistant Manager in the Baton Rouge area! Also learned different skills: vendor check ins, bill payment, money transfers and also pricing.

Friendly place to work
Asst. Scan Coordinator (Current Employee), New Bern, NC – April 30, 2013
Pros: health benefits
Cons: work weekends
It depends on what my job assignment is from day to day. I can work from the front end to the back end. I have learned all aspects of the retail world, from how to respond to customers, to what makes a company run. My co-workers are hard working people who make the job day a little easier. The hardest part of my job is to not let one bad customer make – more... my day go bad. I understand you cannot satisfy everyone, so I do my best to keep a smile on my face. The most enjoyable part of my job is making people smile. When I have made someone's day, that make my job a little more easier. – less

Fun place to work
Night Manager (Current Employee), Nekoosa, WI – April 29, 2013
Pros: having fun, getting along with everybody
Cons: low payrate
There is always something to do, stocking shelves, carry out groceries for customers(one of the few stores that do) helping customers locate product and helping co-workers. There really isn't anything hard about the job which makes it enjoyable.

Not well organized
Recieving Clerk/Price Coordinator (Current Employee), Maxton, NC – April 27, 2013
Pros: hour lunch
Cons: 1 10min break allowed, low pay, management makes negative remarks about other employees all the time
Management talkes bad about other employees and doesn't take responsibility for anything that he does wrong. Most co -workers are joy to be around . Most enjoyable thing about this job is the hours.

Alright...
ASSITANT MANAGER (Former Employee), Madisonville, LA – April 23, 2013
Pros: free food, stress free
Cons: minimum wage, dumb management
Job was pretty stress-free, and easy. They pay minimum wage, good luck getting anything else. If they had any values, I didn't see them after 3 years. If you extremely lucky, you may advance, but most of the managers will be there for awhile, because they is no other place where they can be that dumb, and get away with they do. Did I mention they are – more... dumb. Literally. The main manager, misspelled signs she put up all the time, and had absolutely no brains whatsoever. Years later I was buying a home, and they requested documentation from that company, and she filled it out wrong. They were all extremely unprofessional. – less

Working with children
Cashier (Former Employee), Pleasant Grove, AL – April 22, 2013
I enjoyed this job. I got to spend time with children and help them while there parents were gone to work. The management was very good. And I also enjoyed the co-workers. The hardest part of the job was making sure none of the children got hurt. The most enjoyable would be seeing how each child is different and making them laugh.

Scan Coordinator & Customer Service (Former Employee), Kingston, TN – April 16, 2013
Pros: flexible scheduling
Cons: little chance for advancement, no healthcare/bonuses
A typcial day consisted of running cash register, stocking product, sweeping/mopping and handling customer service related issues. A great first job experience. Most enjoyable part of the job was the people. They felt like a family more than co-workers, one of the perks of a small town grocery store.
