Usually a great place to work
Assembly Line Worker (Current Employee) –  OhioFebruary 21, 2016
Aside from the involuntary shutdowns that happen twice a year without pay. This could be a really great place to work. typical day starts early in the morning and off work by early afternoon. Most of the management team is great. Speaking only of my department, the work is not too physically demanding but, it is fast paced most of the time. The most enjoyable part of the job is being part of producing great quality products that are enjoyable for consumers.
Pros
clean and friendly environment
Cons
a little more incentive would be good

Your first day may be your last.
Overlooked crew (Former Employee) –  Dixon, ILFebruary 9, 2016
Generally a teenage job, but a handful of adults work too. Mornings leave you cold and wet while afternoons dehydrate you and overwhelm you with your own sweat. This isn't a job for everyone. It is physically demanding.

Johnston research campus
Research Assistant (Former Employee) –  Johnston, IAFebruary 5, 2016
The place was like a small university, as there were numerous different buildings with different specialties all interconnected by corridors, guest speakers, and numerous training opportunities. There were also a number of amenities inside and outside of the campus, including an on-site cafe, an physical fitness room, plenty of nearby hiking trails, and gorgeous views overlooking a nearby river valley. The service staff was also generally quite prompt, adjusting desks, installing computers, handling equipment needs, all within a reasonable time frame. Basically it was a fantastic place to work.
Pros
The on-site cafe, the surrounding parks, diverse culture
Cons
One access road flooded every couple of years, requiring a detour.

Used to be a great Company, now not so much...
Research Associate III (Current Employee) –  Johnston, IAJanuary 29, 2016
This was a great company to work for when I started 7 years ago but over the last 3 years everything started going downhill. Benefits started getting worse, taking away vacation time, layoffs, and no more raises or bonuses. I am looking for another job!
Pros
Some coworkers can be friendly.
Cons
Competition!

Relaxed and very easy to enviroment to work in
Warehouse Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Constantine, MIOctober 31, 2015
Pioneer is a fantastic company to build your life around with the rate of pay and benefits offered.

No company is perfect...
Advancement is almost unattainable, most employees have to work for at least 2 years before being consider to be hired in full time under pioneers payroll, and its fairly evident you are easily replaced. Ive seen full time employees get let go over a higher up in management catching them leaving or entering the premises without wearing their seatbelt.
Being a nation wide company you have to take the good with the bad.

Do your job, be responsible and you most likely wont have to worry about too much.
Pros
Rate of pay, benefits and very safe enviroment
Cons
hours are unreliable and sadly your just a number, even mamagement is easily replaced. It is a nation wide company after all

Sorting Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Constantine MIOctober 12, 2015
Pioneer is a nice place to work if you are looking for season work. It gives plenty of hours and overtime if the person wants. Typically I hand out people personal protection equipment each day, records hours, resolve problems, give safety orientations. The most enjoyable and the hardest part about the job is the people.
