Our client is starting a small, new and modern manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH. As part of the startup, we need to find an experienced Quality professional from a “Tooling Intensive” heavy manufacturing background such as Die Casting, Plastics (molding, blow molding, extrusion), or Stamping. You will establish all Quality metrics, goals, and improvement goals for this operation. Experienced Managers are welcome, or this could be a great opportunity for a strong engineer or supervisor wanting to grow into a management role.
Quality Manager Responsibilities
o Manage all Quality Department personnel.
o The Quality Manager is responsible for product quality standards, quality systems and programs plant-wide.
o The Quality Manager is responsible for all compliance, certification, and approval concerning agency regulations and industry standards (such as ISO/QS/TS).
o The Quality Manager will be responsible for quality standards, policies, procedures, quality system, quality manual; as well as strategic plans and budgets relating to the area of quality.
o The Quality Manager will audit and work with suppliers to ensure their quality systems are proficient, and hold them accountable to meeting their expected levels of performance.
o The Quality Manager will promote Safety as paramount in importance in the operation.
o Training of quality department personnel.
Quality Manager required Knowledge/Experience:
o 5 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role in Quality (Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager, or similar).
o 4-year degree.
o Experience in a tooling-intensive heavy manufacturing process such as Casting, Stamping, or plastics manufacturing (Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Thermoforming, Extrusion, etc.).
o Strong continuous improvement experience.
o Experience with ISO/QS/TS
o Strong experience with product approvals, managing nonconforming products, etc.
