Lengthy tenure at company doesn't guarantee job security

The company is going through some changes because of new management from Bentek and there has been a history of layoffs of talented editors who have given years to Platts. The company is heavy with middle managers who have created a barrier between the rank-and-file and upper management, and will preserve their own jobs at all costs, including sacking – more... lower-level longtime employees. The trend now is to hire lower-paid data-churners based in Asia offices.
The pay and benefits have been competitive for US editors, but that is likely changing. – less
On our team, we made daily price assessments in the afternoon, but spent most of the morning talking to sources to understand what the market was looking like that day. We covered news stories related to the energy market and followed refinery turnarounds, etc. The team is great and everyone shows a lot of support for one another.
