Network Administrator (Ashland OR)

POSITION PURPOSE

The Network Administrator level 1 is a position that will assist with daily responsibilities over maintaining LAN/WAN applications and infrastructure. This position requires a strong ability to stay on task, communicate with end users, and deliver exceptional internal support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Manage and support LAN and WAN network devices.
Manage and support Internet access and security appliances.
Manage and support remote and wireless access.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains PC hardware, software and printers.
Proactively take measures for desktop maintenance, security and performance.
Plans and implements user profiles which provide drive and printer mappings and email.
Manages Active Directory accounts and permissions.
Troubleshooting to identify network system issues and correct them as well as other operational difficulties.
Ensure hardware, software, and network upgrades, installations, re-installations, changes, and relocations are efficiently completed as required.
Investigate, recommend, and install enhancements and operating procedures that regulate network availability.
Maintain critical system infrastructure.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
Provides service desk support to resolve complex technical hardware and software problems.
Works closely with the Virtualization Administrator to assist on projects.
Prepares and provides reports as requested by management.
Performs all functions as assigned by management.

DEVELOPMENTAL FOCUS:

Level 1-2 Foundation skills; solid functional area knowledge (level 1-2); basic IT and Healthcare knowledge.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

Performs simple and moderately complex tasks independently; consistently delivers quality work, on-time; proven ability to take on additional responsibilities; demonstrates appropriate knowledge and proficiency; excellent core value performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

BS degree in computer field desirable but not required
One of the following certifications desired but not required:
MCSE, MCITP: EA, SA, MCTS, CCNA, CCENT

REQURIED KNOWLEDGE:

2+ years' systems administrator experience with Exchange 2010
2+ years' experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
Windows Server 2003/2008 R2, 8, 7, XP operating systems.
Microsoft Hyper-v, VMware, SAN.
Dell PowerEdge Servers, PowerConnect switches.
Watchguard, Cisco ASA firewalls -- IDS/IPS, logging, content filtering.
Wireless technologies and security (e.g. 802.11b/g/n, WPA/WPA-2).
Strong understanding of network protocols and routing.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

Microsoft System Center 2012 -- SCCM, SCDPM, SCOM
Microsoft Lync 2010
Microsoft SharePoint 2010
Network/system security best practices and industry standards

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong technical skills using a personal computer
Ability to decipher a problem over the phone and through email
Able to work independently and stay on task

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Maintain emotional control under stress. Maintain positive attitude when dealing with end users. Some bending, climbing, and walking occasionally. Occasional lifting and carrying of heavy objects (45 lbs or over).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office setting with own desk space. Must be able to work independently and stay on task.

REASONING ABILITY:

Able to determine right/wrong with common sense

MATHEMATICS ABILTIY: High School equivalent

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Proficient in English
