Stay Away
Sales Executive (Former Employee), Greenville, SCAugust 21, 2013
Cons: everything
Predatory company. Promised minimum of $50K first year income just working existing clients. More if new business brought in.....

NOT EVEN CLOSE. No benefits. You have to pay for them to send you on your appointments, and then you end up in the same locations twice in 8 weeks PLUS they had sent other agents in without my knowledge. No allowance for – more... gas, no allowance for hotels, and most appointments they send you on are more than an hour away, one way. They give away gifts to potential clients, which you must pay for.

Regional manager acts nice, though is so nonconfrontational and dishonest about the real earnings potential of this position it borders on being unethical.

Also, the structure of payment for the employees closely resembles a pyramid scheme.

New to insurance as I was when I took this position? STAY AWAY. – less

Pros: great atmosphere good compensation -- mentoring coworkers
This was my "first" real claims desk. I learned about liability and reading leases and vendor contracts and tendering. I also learned about business income loss, property claims commercial liability clams. I enjoyed this job.

Good Benefits, Decent Pay
Former employee (Former Employee), East - Southeastern U.S.A.July 3, 2012
Pros: good benefits, decent to good pay
Cons: cold hearted management, managerial confusion, management does not have your back, work you like a dog, excessive overtime, cold-hearted management
Overall good company which talks a better game than it delivers.

Computer system requires a lot of repetitive input of data, many fields to complete and takes "forever" to set-up a file.

Training is good to begin with, but then they think you're supposed to know "everything" in the first two weeks.

Management divides the office into "pets" and "everyone – more... else".

Lots of micro-management, but not in helpful way.

What is that old song? "The Back Stabbers"? That's management. Smile to your face, and try to undermine you behind the scenes.

No one takes lunches, breaks, and if they do, they're called-out for it.

Peer pressure is tough, and they do not readily accept new or "outside" people.

Company is fairly new, and experiencing growing pains.

Overall a learning experience. If you are young and willing to put-in hours of overtime every day, maybe this company is for you. Just don't express your thoughts, because your feet will be held to the fire. – less

A miss opportunity in the Atlanta Office!
Senior Underwriting Specialist (Former Employee), Atlanta, GAJune 28, 2012
Pros: great company with good philosophy & tools in place...
Cons: unprofessional local management team at that time-branch & uw manager....
We had hard working co-workers but the management team was always in the turmoil which left the atmosphere very uneasy, unsettled and uncertain.

Management tried and succeeded in dividing the team; thankfully, most did not subscribed.

There was no team spirit or partnering with a particular broker/agent; enjoyed marketing visits just to get out of – more... the office; broker's/agents wanted to work with the UW;however, they were uncertain of our local leadership! – less

Worker's Compensation Claims Representative (Former Employee), Allentown, PAApril 11, 2012
All records of injuries are needed in case of future injury or lawsuit. My duties here were to carefully record these notices, received via fax, mail or email, into the company database. Other responsibilities were to ensure the form was complete with all necessary answers and client information. There often were times when the reports needed to be – more... translated from Spanish to English. I had also rotated throughout various departments in an effort to find opportunity for advancement. – less

Quality of company varies by location
Underwriter (Former Employee)June 16, 2011
The Atlanta management staff is poor. There has been large turnover year after year after year. Other offices viewed more favorably.
