There is not a typical day as a 911 dispatcher. I have learned a lot about the legal system and perfecting multitasking. Workplace culture is different than any job I have had before. Everyone works as a team in times of crisis, and that is remarkable. Hardest part of the job is bad calls, and worrying about the officers on every call. There is quite a bit of dangers for officers and the calls that come in vary from parking complaints to life and death emergencies.
Knowing that you have made a difference in someone's life is very rewarding.
