About Pratt Regional Medical Center
At Pratt Regional Medical Center we are proud of our:
modern sixty-nine bed acute healthcare facility,
fifty-one bed rehabilitation and long-term care facility,
home health agency,
rural health clinics, and
physician clinics.
Our mission is to provide excellent and compassionate healthcare services.
Pratt Regional Medical Center is a 501(c)(3) – more... not-for-profit facility owned by the citizens of Pratt County and managed by Pratt Regional Medical Center, Inc. Because we are a not-for-profit facility, we use revenues in excess of expenses to:
update the capital equipment,
add buildings,
increase services, and
maintain reserves.
PRMC is designated as a Sole Community Provider by the federal government. We are a progressive medical center licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and we are Medicare certified. We hold memberships in:
VHA, Inc.,
American Hospital Association,
Kansas Hospital Association, and
Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce.
Accountability to the community is assured by two boards made up of area residents.
The Pratt County Hospital Board of Trustees is a five-member board appointed by the Pratt County Commissioners. Because Pratt owns the buildings, the Pratt County Hospital Board of Trustees is charged with:
maintenance of the grounds;
repair/replacement of major fixed mechanical systems;
maintenance of the exterior of the PRMC building, the South Central Medical Clinic, the Pratt Rehabilitation & Residence Center and the Pratt Regional Medical Complex; and
lease of the buildings to the management board.
Less than one mil is levied each year for maintenance of the exterior of the buildings, fixed mechanical systems and grounds.
Pratt Regional Medical Center, Inc. manages the medical center with a nine-member board of directors, the executive staff and the administrative staff.
PRMC, Inc. is responsible for:
all operating expenses such as payroll, supplies and medical equipment;
routine maintenance, operational wear and tear and the insurance coverage on the buildings and grounds; and
payment of the $10.255 million hospital revenue bonds for the Pratt Regional Medical Complex.
No tax money is used to fund these expenses. Revenue generated from patient charges and contributions pays for these expenses.
Since receiving the first patient on September 11, 1950, the goal of the medical center has been to provide current care and technology, with care and compassion, in an up-to-date facility. All persons seeking care at PRMC receive care, regardless of their ability to pay.
As a community owned, not-for-profit facility, PRMC is committed to providing the needed vision, leadership and strategic planning to continue primary and secondary health care services for area citizens. We have provided health care services for over fifty exciting and changing years. The future will bring additional change and new services as we work together to improve the health of the people in our community. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
