A typical day at work is answering the phone, checking emails, faxing medical documentation requests, scheduling deliveries, verifying insurances, ensuring we have the proper paperwork to fill a prescription, confirming tickets, working on monthly prior authorizations, contacting doctor's offices for chart notes. I have learned a lot about the medical field and requirements to get reimbursed for home equipment. Management has been introducing various new software and ideas. It has been stressful on all parties, while trying to work out the inconsistencies in the new systems. My co-workers are wonderful people and know what team work is. The hardest part of my job is when I am unable to help a patient due to insurance regulations and denials. The most enjoyable part of my job would be completing orders and getting the patients the home equipment they require in their time of need and healing.
