PreServe is a metals and plastics recycling manufacturer. They buy product in bulk, recycle, and sell internationally.
The typical production day was 8am - 4pm. As part of the managment team in the roll of business developer and HR director, all hiring needs were directed from this role. An administrative team of up to 4-5 persons at any point in the work cycle supported compliance and training needs as well as payroll adminsitration.
The hardest part of the job was not having funding to employ more qualified individuals in an area with a 39% unemployment rate.
The most enjoyable part of the job was networking and placing people in jobs which had not worked in more than a year. Particularly the opportunity to work with persons who were at risk or intellectually disabled or physically disabled.
