challenging and stimulating environment
Financial Services Representative (Former Employee), Knoxville, TN –
Pros: flexible work schedule, ability to move up in the company
Cons: generating clients
Primerica Financial Services is a challenging and stimulating work environment. The office in which I worked provided much ongoing training, assistance, and encouragement as needed. It required much self discipline in that I decided how much and when I wanted to work, which can be both a pro and a con. As a financial services representative, I set appointments, – more...  then met with families in their homes to first educate them on how money works, then provide a financial needs analysis, which is a financial plan that takes into consideration the current situation of the client and gives them a detailed road map on how to accomplish their financial goals. Also, I marketed financial products when needed. The education I provided families was by far the most enjoyable part of the job because it empowered them to make the best financial choices for their families. The company offered great incentives that motivated me to meet my own financial goals. My co-worker relationships were vital to me in that we provied much needed encouragement to each other as well as drew from each others experiences. This position required time managment, relationship building, product knowledge, knowledge on how money operates and the ability to transfer that knowledge to a client, organizational skills, problem solving, and computer proficiency. – less

Buy Term Invest The Difference
Financial Representative (Former Employee), Park Ridge, IL –
Pros: exposure to financial products, creating financial independence for clients, great team structure, very informative of finance sector
Cons: challenging work efforts for goals, fierce competitor products, intense fieldwork for business
At Primerica, I was a financial representative that informed individuals about investments and retirement. Offering multiple forms of insurance, I had to cold call prospective clients, set appointments at their homes, and gave suitable recommendations of the various life insurance offered based from their income/debt structure. I have learned that investing – more...  in our self is more valuable than anything. Financial planning is vital to retirement and better quality of life for families. Management was enthusiastic and motivational to promote an exciting environment for all of our success. The co-workers specialized each in various financial instruments that strengthened the team's expertise and created a cohesive group to optimize the best solutions to our clients. The hardest part of the job was creating a lead base, so referrals were vital to continuing business. The most enjoyable segment of the job was helping families achieve a sense of financial success through planning stability. – less

Be your own boss
Financial Advisor (Former Employee), San Marcos, TX –
Pros: industry was interesting, work from home, be your own boss
Cons: commission based pay, work load, little training and direction
This position allowed me the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of investments and finance. It was basically my own business so I managed myself and worked when I wanted to. However, if you don't work, you don't get paid because this position only paid in commissions. If you have a knack for investments and talking to people, try this business.

Very exciting environment
Financial Analyst (Former Employee), Manchester, NH –
Pros: trophies and awards that we recieved, parties
Cons: negative responses by some people
As an independent Financial Analyst, the week consisted of going in to the office for training on Wednesdays and Saturdays while the rest of the week was committed to doing financial presentations to different clients both at the office or client homes. Sometimes I conducted presentations at clients' offices. After the presentations I would then go – more...  back to the office to input the data or information from clients to come up with the best solution for them that could help them with their indebtedness. The management was great because they made every effort to assure us that they were working hard to ensure that we succeeded and they provided all the tools for us to succeed. It was very positive and going home every night knowing that I was helping people get out of bad financial situations was pleasing. We worked in teams and I loved everybody that I worked with. The hardest part of the job was revealing to clients how terribly indebted they were and seeing their reactions. The most enjoyable aspect of the job was seeing the joy whenever we came up with the solutions to the financial issues that clients were facing. – less

This is a contract pay job
the hardest part of the job is that it is all commissions
