I've been with this company for about 6 months. I make $7.75 a hour. Not terrible for a part time job. I became full time about 2 months ago, and let me tell you, I have never felt unappreciated and demeaned in my life or in any work situation. My manager was wonderful. I loved her. Our supervisor on the other hand, absolutely horrendous. She has been the reason that 2 managers have quit and one is thinking about it. She treats everyone like they are incompetent. She talks down to absolutely everyone she talks to, customers included. I rarely saw her until my manager put her 2 weeks in and quit. I see her almost every day I work. Also, when I became full time, I was told my pay was nonnegotiable I would just be getting about 10 to 12 hours more a week. Sounded fine to m . I understood. Until I was discussing with another employee from a different store that I felt underpaid with everything I've been doing since my manager left, and she said that her rate which was $8 something a hour wasn't enough. Keep in mind, she was full time after me and she gets every Thursday off. We have contest that we do within the company that is sponsered by the vendors, and I would on some occasions, beat my former manager in them, and my new supervisor has the audacity to say I need to learn how to sell products and work on my people skills. Usually I have a conversation with the customers while they are at the register, checking out, or when they're looking for a product . I've met the owner one time but had no idea that he was in fact, the owner. He was really nice though when I met him. But anyways, back to my supervisor point, she also never dresses appropriately. She's always wearing short dresses and heels. I've had customers ask me who she was when she would talk to them. I have also had customers ask me why I have stayed working here for 6 months with the way she talks to me. (Yes she talks to us in front of customers, like she would if she was one on one with us). I told her it was because I didn't want to leave my coworkers struggling especially without a manager, being that I've been picking up the slack from my manager leaving. I wish that the owner was more involved with the stores and treatment of his employees. Other than that, I love the work environment, even though my store is constantly busy and we have a few creepy customers here and ther .
