Temp to Hire Staffing Agency
-Priorities included finding the best fit candidates for the different clients we staffed for, including searching for resumes that appealed to the type of jobs our company staffed for so that we could best meet the needs of our clients so to bring them into our office and Interview them to see if there job skills were matched with the desired type of work one of our many clients provided. Also, we kept an organized spreadsheet of candidates who were currently placed on the job, potentials that were waiting for work, and candidates who's assignments have ended so we could get a visual for not only the client, but for us at the office as well.
-What I took away from this job was the knowledge of dealing with clients and working together to build a positive, trusting relationship. I learned a lot about sales and how to approach companies around the metro area and propose our company's ideas and strategies hoping to gain their interest in having us help them in their staffing department. Recruiting and trying to search for the best qualified candidates quickly became a second nature for me. Also, more experience in Microsoft Office and organizational skills.
-Challenges I faced were unreliable candidates not showing up to scheduled appointments, interviews, and most importantly the actual job itself. With recruiting, you are never entirely certain with whom you are dealing with and how reliable the candidate is. Dealing with a high turnover rate seemed to be common with some particular clients.
-The enjoyable parts I took away from this job were the new knowledge that I had picked up day by day. I got more familiar with organization skills within Microsoft Office, Dealing with HR, and getting a behind the scenes look at how the hiring process works and what needs to be done to have a successful outcome. I have more confidence going out into the job world with combining my staffing coordinating skills on top of also getting more familiar with inbound/outbound calls, and recruiting.
