Account Receivable Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLJuly 9, 2017
PSI was more like a work family. Management and employees worked together to get tasks done, solve issues, find new contracts. After recent merger and changes in management. Employees have less "steam".

Field Technician (Former Employee) –  Riviera Beach, FLMay 15, 2017
My work at PSI took place over 15 years ago. They were fair, and they gave me my first position in construction inspections. I enjoyed working for them, however, I had to leave in order to pursue advancement in my career.

Administrative Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PAFebruary 28, 2017
My years at PSI were good. Now there is no room to move around there, and things have gotten bad over the years....I started as receptionist, then advanced to administrative assistant to the IH LAB department. The hardest part of the job, was facing a hostile boss, other than that, things were good.

nice people

Senior Technician (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJune 8, 2016
Working with contractors and the other techs was good. Work is outside all the time. The management only looks out for themselves. Their bonus is more important than you getting a paycheck. More worried about making money. Don't go by seniority. The benefits are ok. Using company vehicle was great. Not allowed to utilize winter months for training.
Pros
The FIELD TECHS not office workers, are great.
Cons
Hard to get 40 hours a week, lay offs in the winter, no advancement

I loved this job but you are treated as a number not a person. Individual recognition does not exist. The only raises you get are from the anaul 2% cost of living.

Radiography Technician Assistant (Former Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PAJune 7, 2015
Have learned about the pipeline industry. Management was going by putting out the weekly schedule. All the co-workers had a suspended license so on a very long day became unsafe due to having to be in charge of all the driving.

Special Inspector / Discipline Lead Inspector (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORFebruary 25, 2015
With this company it is an environment that has the employee guessing as to whether or not there will be continuing work once finished with the one currently assigned to. There is in all actuality a lack of communication.

Engineering Technician (Former Employee) –  Corpus Christi, TXFebruary 4, 2015
We started the day usually taking samples out of drying oven and weighing them and recording the weights. Calculations follow and the data is recorded in each jobs file. I learned how to classify soil and use a soils density machine along with a few different certifications. The Management was good people and a pleasure to have as a boss. I liked working there.
Pros
Great intellectual stimulation
Cons
payday was every 2 weeks

Can be fun at times, very unpredictable
Field Technician (Current Employee) –  Corpus Christi, TXApril 25, 2014
There is no typical at PSI. I have learned a variety of things. From make concrete cylinders and testing soils, to reading and understanding structural plans. I feel that management is okay, could be better. The hardest part of this job is that there is no set schedule. Everyday is different. Not sure.

Have not worked there in years, unfair to comment.
Engineering Technician (Former Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PAApril 8, 2013
I have not worked for this company in years. The company maintains a good reputation in their field, but as far as their Pittsburgh operations, I have no knowledge as to who is running the show, so it would not be an accurate assessment, because the management that was there when I worked there is no longer in charge.
Pros
advancement was possible for go-getters.
Cons
compensation wasn't easily attainable---you had to speak up.
