The Director of Business Development achieves business objectives by generating successful business relationships with pharmaceutical and device sponsors and by providing a consistent revenue pipeline which increases revenue and sustains profitability. The EC BD proactively cultivates global, national and regional business opportunities that differentiate Profil in the marketplace and that provide growth and generation of new revenue streams for the organization. This position will be located in a central East Coast location (does not need to be Orlando based).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned at the company’s sole discretion.
CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/SALES EXPERIENCE IN A CLINICAL RESEARCH ORGANIZATION.
Performs market research identifying potential customers and new drug targets in PICR’s areas of indication. Demonstrates excellence in customer service orientation and high level understanding of business drivers.
In collaboration with Finance and Operations Departments, orchestrates deal negotiation and execution of proposals, contract negotiations and client presentations.
Identifies and develops profitable business relationships with new and existing clients/sponsors. Provides a consultative role with clients, providing education and information.
Manages the development and improvement of competitive marketing collateral.
Identifies and evaluates industry specific conferences and exhibits and provides representation and branding for the organization in offsite Business Development endeavors.
Documents and assesses existing business relationships, maximizing utilization through ongoing contact and communication. Tracks record of successfully providing research business solutions to clients.
Manages the maintenance, oversight and continual development and growth of client database.
Achieves annual revenue goals while managing BD Department budget.
Able to travel for extended periods (1-2 weeks)
Collaborates with internal departments, such as Scientific Services, Clinical Operations and aligns in the development and implementation of marketing strategies, plans, and business models.
Qualifications include a minimum of 10 years Director level Business development experience obtained in the Clinical Research Industry. Phase 1 experience hlghly preferred as well as a successful history of developing and meeting sales goals based on successful business relationships with pharmaceutical companies and representatives. Proven ability to build sales with pharmaceutical and device sponsors and client base to support business goals.
