fast paced work w/ enjoyable break times playing frisbee
Freight Handler (Former Employee), Fargo, ND – May 23, 2013
Pros: great co-workers and management with good attitudes
Cons: not having a large enough warehouse for the inventory
I stated my day out by checking the electric pallet-jacks, reading the receiving lists for incoming trucks then went to unloading them. Once the trucks were unloaded the shipments got lumped together to be put away. While I was there I learned different organizational skills. My co-workers and I got along great. Everything seemed to "click" so that – more... all quality and production levels were at or above what was expected of us. The hardest part of working there was when a shipment was either early or late and clashed with another order. I found it enjoyable to be able to work through the situation safely and efficiently with my co-workers while keeping an upbeat attitude. – less

Loading/unloading trailers
Loader/unloader (Former Employee), Elwood, IL – April 25, 2013
Pros: repetition, friendships
Cons: some merchandise being loaded into trailers were 100 l.b.s.
A typical consisted of loading/unloading trailers.
I learned to ask for instructions before starting work.
Management wear many hats.
My co-workers came from all walks of life.
The hardest part of my job was the heat in the Summer and the cold in the Winter.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the work and the friendships developed there.

Fast paced warehouse
Material Handler (Former Employee), Fountain, CO – March 5, 2013
Pros: fast paced
Cons: pull pay
A typical work day is busy and very fast paced. Management the most part is pretty good. Most of my co-workers were very hard workers. The hardest part of job was not knowing how much money you made untill you got your check, because their pay system is based off of pull pay. The most enjoyable part of the job is you stay busy.

production based pay so it kept me working hard.
Order Selector (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – January 7, 2013
Pros: got out everyday at 3pm but my check looked like a full days work
Cons: holidays were really rough, summers too.
Go in around 7:30 am. Then do the morning stretches at 8 with the entire warehouse crew. After a 5-10 min intro from the managers, we get to work, wich entailed palletizing product neatly in a timely manner labeling and delivering to desired location for shipment. It was a good work enviornment. Very fast paced. Management wasnt very aparent since they – more... were mostly in the office all day. Everyone kept to themselves considering the harder you worked the more you got paid that day. Base pay was around 10.00 but you could bring in up to 23.00 per hour. the hardest part of the job was keeping yourself motivated since you werent able to view your pay until the end of the week due to it being an average of the "weeks" work. The paycheck is what i loved most since it shoed my work ethic. If you worked hard all week your check was amazing! If you coasted all week it was a normal check, also if you did just enough to get by you were gonna live paycheck to paycheck pretty much. – less

Lumper (Current Employee), Des Plaines, IL – December 9, 2012
A typical day ar work is fast paced, the work is basic, no real skills needed except learning to use a power jack, management is decent, co-workers get along. the hardest part of the job depends on the type/time of day. the most enjoyable part of the day would have to be the last half of the day.

Straight forward job, you are paid as hard as you work.
Freight Handler (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – August 6, 2012
Pros: benefits, 4 day work week, 3 breaks per day
Cons: average 10-12 hr work day, hard labor, little to no advancement.
Labor is what it is. You handled product in and out of trailers. Some days were slow and light and others were so overwhelming, demanding and fast paced that it was hardly human to ask it of anyone. Management mostly consisted of those whom had been there for many years and were indifferent to the concerns of employees or other department managers. – more... Overall, I learned how to properly lift heavy weight and organize/optimize space in a short span of time. – less
